There's a great scene in the Garden House between Captain Keller, Kate Keller and Annie Sullivan in William Gibson's THE MIRACLE WORKER.

The Last Five Years (The Movie, The Thread) Feb 15 2015, 09:41:21 PM
I really loved it. I have never seen this production on stage and only knew one song (which I love: I'm Still Hurting). The movie, I felt, was excellent, really great directing and I loved the performances. The finale with aforementioned *SPOILER* (Jamie in the Present and Cathy in the Past singing to each other) was really powerful, quite emotional.

Backstage With Disney on BroadwayCelebrating 20 Years tonight on ABC Dec 18 2014, 09:15:41 PM
Sigh. I was so excited for this celebration. I love Disney on Broadway. I am a big fan of Thomas Schumacher and his passion for theatre and theatre education. I have seen The Lion King twice on Broadway, Newsies once and Aladdin twice. I collect the Disney on Broadway coffee table books. I was WAITING for this to screen :) This was just one big commercial of product-pushing. There were some interesting moments (like seeing Thomas Schumacher showing the props in the DTG offices) but the pop singers, and skipping so many shows (whether successful or not) did not feel like an authentic 'celebration' of Disney on Broadway. Actually, more interesting as a backstage look and celebration of the show is the 24-minute Backstage Pass for Aladdin on Broadway: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B2QkcGcnpB8

Thank you so much Yero my Hero, that sounds amazing…I will definitely have a look into it, thanks for the info.! I am focussing more at a younger audience of middle school students and upper-elementary aged students but have also included a few popular High School focused shows to have a bigger range for my research. Many thanks again!

Les Mis 25th - BIG DISAPPOINTMENT Mar 14 2011, 05:58:14 PM
For myself, I really loved the 25th anniversary...I would have loved to have seen it live! I loved the overall pacing and drama of the concert. Cosette, in my opinion, was one of the real highlights of the show -usually, I find that role kind of blends into the show like wallpaper but in this concert version I felt Cosette was one of the most interesting characters. I am also a really big Lea Salonga fan!! Just my opinions :)

Give a guy a hand finding scenes for middle schoolers? Jan 14 2011, 03:04:26 AM
In terms of musicals for scene study in the middle school classroom, I would suggest: Hairspray (script published by Applause Theatre and Cinema Books) -great themes to explore with middle school students and a fun show, with great characters; "Into the Woods" is absolutely brilliant -and there is the junior adaptation for the middle school age range; The Wiz (Samuel French)and even the "The Wizard of Oz" in that regards...? ...other musicals with great characters (and range of age
