Many good sad moments in the theater have already been mentioned, but my saddest, being overwhelmed with sobs for over 15 minutes (through the ending and sitting, hugging strangers after final curtain) was the recent revival of Larry Kramer's The Normal Heart. I agree with Marin Mazzie in N2N. She was mesmerizing and profound. Pretty much equal to Alice, who so deserved her Tony. I would add Bernadette Peters in the revival of A Little Night Music. I really wish she had played Desiree from the start and been on the cast recording. The night I saw her performance from front row center mezz at the Walter Kerr I knew immediately it would stay with me forever, and so it has.

Nice to hear. I've read that it is not your traditional musical. I know there are 3 separate stories told. Did you find them to all be worthy of being included. Don't be too specific, as I'm not looking for spoilers. I'm a big Julia Murney fan, having seen her in the play Falling and in three concert performances. Excited to finally see her, and the rest of the cast, in a full musical.

Hey, perfectliar, I hope you were being truthful about seeing Mothers and Sons tonight at Bucks County and that you'll give us some feedback (or anyone who has seen this since it began yesterday.) I'm seriously considering the trip for next week and would appreciate reviews.

Has anyone heard updates about what theater this will play in and when the production will begin? Really looking forward to seeing Estelle Parsons and Stephen Spinella in this, but I haven't read anything recently since the initial announcement in late fall. The regional reviews for this play were very good. Hope it makes it to Broadway this spring.
