Tickets, and therefore calendar of show dates, are not yet available to the public. Site just says Oct-Nov. Will a Vinyard subscriber or member who has access to the dates & regular weekend start times for which tickets are being sold please be so kind as to let me know. Particularly interested in whether this might have a Sunday evening performance. I'm trying to plan a trip to NYC and want to see this. Thanks.
Anyone else excited?

I have no idea what the exact dates are, but I am glad you're interested in seeing it. I was lucky enough to get to see the "lab" production of the piece last June, and it's really quite a terrific show. Completely different than anything Kander and Ebb ever wrote. Enjoy it!
(And I am not a shill for anyone involved.)

Nice to hear. I've read that it is not your traditional musical. I know there are 3 separate stories told. Did you find them to all be worthy of being included. Don't be too specific, as I'm not looking for spoilers.
I'm a big Julia Murney fan, having seen her in the play Falling and in three concert performances. Excited to finally see her, and the rest of the cast, in a full musical.

They're all good stories, yes. Not exactly musicals. They're only about 25-30 minutes each, and Kander uses underscore and short bits of recit. constantly, but not full songs. (Each "story" might have 2 songs each, 3 tops. I can't recall exactly.)
The third piece (entitled THE LANDING) is absolutely devastating. The first piece is sweet and touching, and well told. I thought the second piece, about a woman who falls in love with a brick, would be ridiculous. It wound up being the most surprising, humorous thing all evening.
Murney is very good. Each of the three leading actors has an their own "act" to shine in. Pierce, for example, is the focus/protagonist of one, while Murney is the focus of another. There's also a child actor in the show who is of importance in all three.
Again, I hope you find the piece interesting, and maybe enjoyable.

Uh, it's Dear World.
Actually, I hope and pray that nothing beautiful is ever revived again, other than by companies like the York or Irish Rep that can be trusted to treat these works with the love and respect they deserve. Otherwise, the inimical, egotistical and malign will invariably destroy them à la Flower Drum Song, Cinderella, etc, and take great pleasure in doing so. It's better by far that these shows lie in sweet repose than receive such treatment.
As for The Landing, fans of John Kander are in for a huge disappointment. It's a sorry evening.

Posted: 8/16/13 at 11:46pmAs someone who saw the lab production, this piece could not be further from a Broadway musical. That says nothing about the quality of the show (though I did find it very much all over the place) and everything about the content and the format with which it's told.

Can we please stop with the Broadway transfer rumors for every single show? Not everything has to transfer to be deemed a success! Don't you people get that?!?!

^This!
That said, "The Landing" has landed on my must-see list for the fall.
And this is still how I feel about "Natasha, Pierre and the Comet of 1812". It belongs in a small, intimate venue. Audiences sitting in the mezz (heck even in the mid orchestra and back) won't appreciate it. It's an up-close, in your face, personal theatrical experience.

Sorry, misprint you old fogey.
THE LANDING is NOT a Broadway type of show. If THE SCOTTSBORO BOYS couldn't find an audience, this one definitely won't. It's not a traditional musical, and tourists and blue-haireds will be baffled by it. But it's really great.
Again, for the fiftieth time, NOT EVERYTHING NEEDS TO, OR SHOULD, TRANSFER.
