I'm so glad I'm not alone with my take on Hilty. I TOTALLY AGREE about her comedic timing. that was the main thing that bothetred me last night. sometimes i felt like she was trying to do an impression of kristin..but would then "forget" and it would be like she was playing a totally different character. eh, who knows. also..idina's gasping. thats something i have noticed all three times i have seen her, however it was even more noticeable last night...and I was in row M orch. i was in yo

I saw Ashley Brown in On the Record...and I think she would make a fabulous Ariel. However I havent heard much of her reading for the part. Also Emily skinner..but apparently shes out too. xoxo
re: in Wicked tonight

I saw the show last night and JLT was out again. It was my 3rd time seeing the show, and 1st without Kristin, so I was dissapointed that I would not get to see JLT as i have heard she is great. Megan Hilty did an alright job...I just compared her to Kristin a little too much. She wasnt as cute. Great voice though...but its not the same!! Although I have worked with her before here in pgh..so that was pretty cool. xoxo

a standby only plays that part..and only goes on for it. Understudies normally have numerous roles in a musical, and most likely will be cast as an ensemble member.
re: wicked stage door?

The stage door is straight in front of you when you walk our of the Gershwin. I was just there last night..Joey Mcintyre came right out and talked with everyone and signed autographs for awhile. Michelle Federer as well. I have heard Idina does not come out that door..however I am not positive..she did not come out last night. I saw Glinda's understudy, so she came out last night as well.
re: Any one know any good Musical theater schools?
 Dec 28 2004, 11:03:03 PM
Ok, I know I may be biased...but I just wanted to talk a little bit about Penn State University's program. PSU's BFA musical theater program is one of the top theater schools in the country. I believe last year it was rated 3rd just behind CCM and Michigan. When I was applying to schools I was accepted to Ithaca, Syracuse, NYU-Cap21, Point Park and Elon. PSU was by far my top choice, so i accepted right away. Its a small program-I only have 9 in my class...there are about 45 in the program
