It wouldn't surprise me if she did. Gypsy Rose Lee was very involved with the musical. I can't remember were I read it, but Rose Havoc was in a lesbian relationship later in life and even killed someone. She was never convicted I would imagine. So the portrayal of Rose as over the top is pretty accurate.

Sutton Foster sounds like a 15 year old girl. She can sing very well, but it doesn't have that sultry sound Reno needs. Speaking as a gay man Patti Lupone was hot as Reno and I think Foster is too.

Proffessionals work with what they have and give their best. I've heard the indvidual performances are great and that it isn't as terrible as is suggested, but what do I know. I haven't seen it.

I truly hope it is good. The 80's revival holds a special place in my heart. I was in a high school production (may I preface that doesn't. It was horrendous), but I loved the album and it led me to other musicals.

I've gotten the sense that bitch is thrown around a lot on this board. LuPone is a strong willed woman. She expects a lot out of people and gives a lot in return. When men have this quality they are applauded, but women have this quality they are called bitches. I'm sorry for ranting, but it really bothers me and this is coming from a man.
