Still not sold on Sutton as Reno, but I'll see it just for the dancing. It's not often enough we get tap on Broadway these days!

^I was just about to ask that. Yes, it will be a Roundabout production so it will be very meh, but as proven by the last revival of Ragtime, Derek McLane can sure design scenics.

Sutton Foster sounds like a 15 year old girl. She can sing very well, but it doesn't have that sultry sound Reno needs. Speaking as a gay man Patti Lupone was hot as Reno and I think Foster is too.

I think the people complaining about Foster not being sultry enough forget that Reno was originally played by Ethel Merman who, though wonderful in many respects, was anything but sultry. Foster sounds great in the clip, and I'm sure she'll manage the role fine.
I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.

I actually thought Ethel Merman was looking pretty good in Anything Goes.
When I see the phrase "the ____ estate", I imagine a vast mansion in the country full of monocled men and high-collared women receiving letters about productions across the country and doing spit-takes at whatever they contain.

I completely agree that Sutton is very pretty, but there's a difference between being pretty and spunky and what you see Patti PuLone exuding in that DANCE Magazine cover. Maybe Sutton will do well, but I think it will be a very different interpretation of the character then we are used to.
