I saw a Tuesday matinee of the show blind last summer and it was one of the best theatrical experiences of my life. (I majorly regret not getting Sangria, but will do so next time). I don't think I would have loved the cast recording prior to seeing the show, but I downloaded it and listened to it as I exited the theatre and killed time before my evening show. Caught the show last Tuesday while I was in London. That night feels like such a fever dream. I could not believe I was finally getting an opportunity to see Imelda Staunton on the West End??? Apart from some regional/community productions, I had only gotten to see the 1NT live with Alice Ripley way back in 2010 prior to embarking on my first ever trip out of the country to see the Donmar production last year. I am so grateful it's back this summer and have tix to see it 4 times in August. I'm curious to see how it translates to a bigger theater, but I hope they don't change up the staging much. I've lived in Seattle for several years now. I had missed a few premieres at the 5th Avenue/Rep prior to the pandemic so one of my major pledges was to catch as many new musical premieres as I could once we got shows up and running again.
