Immersive INTO THE WOODS? Mar 4 2025, 02:10:56 PM
I cannot miss this. A little sad that the Bath production is dead. Can anyone recommend the best time to try to travel to London (from the US) in Feb-April of next year while this is still running? Excited for the staging.

Vanessa Williams in ‘Devil Wears Prada’ Feb 24 2025, 01:31:59 PM
Does Vanessa Williams have a scheduled or planned departure date? Last time I was in London was between its run at the Plymouth and opening at the Dominion. I'd love to try to catch her when I'm back towards the end of August/start of September if she's still in the show!

Article: OPERATION MINCEMEAT... plots its course to New York Feb 12 2025, 12:55:48 PM
I saw a Tuesday matinee of the show blind last summer and it was one of the best theatrical experiences of my life. (I majorly regret not getting Sangria, but will do so next time). I don't think I would have loved the cast recording prior to seeing the show, but I downloaded it and listened to it as I exited the theatre and killed time before my evening show. I can't think of another show where I've immediately wanted to listen to the cast recording like that. I'm hoping to c

I bet it was such a great show! Between us, we saw all four, then!

I'm really hoping for a 2025-26 transfer. I got to see the show once a the Donmar and 7 times at Wyndham's, but I'm hoping my last show wasn't my goodbye. Caissie absolutely deserves a Tony win, and I don't see it as l

Audra McDonald-led GYPSY for 2024-2025 Season! Oct 4 2024, 01:20:16 PM
I'm planning my first Broadway trip in March around this show. I've been revisiting the cast recordings and reading up on previous productions, particularly non-Broadway Roses. I found this newspaper article from 1962 about Betty Hutton ad-libbing in one of the early touring productions super hilarious. Thought I'd share.

They're talking about Bebe. Tickets are on sale until March 29, which is the end of 12 months since the first preview. If Bebe is contracted for a year, that'll be her departure date. As for the leads, they're probably contract

CABARET at the Kit Kat Club (2024) Opening Night Critics' Reviews Sep 4 2024, 03:54:26 PM
I've seen this production twice on the West End. I was able to catch Maude/Mason last year and Layton/Rhea a few weeks ago. I have no idea if it'll be running next time I make it to London, so I'm debating trying to squeeze in a visit to see the Broadway production in March, which is when I'm planning my trip to see Gypsy... It looks like Adam/Auliʻi are slated to be there the week I'm aiming for, but has there been any word of Bebe exiting?

Imelda Staunton Hello, Dolly starts tonight! Aug 28 2024, 02:55:05 PM
Caught the show last Tuesday while I was in London. That night feels like such a fever dream. I could not believe I was finally getting an opportunity to see Imelda Staunton on the West End??? I had dreamed of that day since 2003/4 when I first heard her as the Baker's Wife on the Original London Cast Recording of Into the Woods. I thought she was utterly fantastic. While this was my first time seeing the show, I feel like with the wrong actress, Dolly would come off as somewhat one note/

REBECCA: THE MUSICAL will have English language production in London Aug 28 2024, 02:48:48 PM
I had tickets to see this last September and our performance was canceled due to cast illness. I love the music, but from what I heard of the translation into English, it's like they ran the German lyrics through Google translation and called it a day. The lyrics sounded abysmal from the two songs they released to YouTube. Still, I would have loved to have seen it. I hear Kara Lane was great as Danvers. I haven't seen so much as a song list so far.

Funny Girl Tour cast changes. Aug 16 2024, 12:36:17 AM
Planning to see this in Seattle next month. Seen some videos of Katerina and I cannot believe the pipes on that girl! I'm also so excited for the Criterion edition of the film! Never saw that coming.

Seeing the show a few times the week of August 19th and I can't wait to see how everyone has grown since the Donmar last year. Caissie Levy's Diana sits easily in my top 5 musical theatre performances, comfortably next to Alice Ripley's. Personally speaking, I was diagnosed with bipolar 1 several years after becoming a fan of next to normal and seeing the 1NT/a few regional productions. While I related to the show from a teenage angst lens back in 2009/2010, I now see a lot of my

I'm personally partial to the Bette Midler revival cast recording (just love the supporting cast, very much missed in London), the Pearl Bailey recording, occasionally the original Carrol Channing recording. That said - the songs of this show wou

Imelda Staunton Hello, Dolly starts tonight! Aug 1 2024, 01:06:23 PM
So, I am seeing this relatively blind in about 3 weeks. The big draw for me is Imelda Staunton. I don't like going to shows mainly/just for one performer as a rule, but this will be my first major West End revival, which will make it special no matter what. I do know some of Dolly's songs and I read The Matchmaker way back in college. Does anyone have thoughts on which cast recording is the absolute best, and where I should start?

Next to Normal is my favorite non-Sondheim musical of all time. The Donmar production/cast was one of the most thrilling theatrical experiences of my life. I have tix to see the West End transfer 4 times in August to make it up to my teen self for only catching the 1NT once. Did anyone happen to catch Carolyn Matiland as Dian

Next to Normal Broadway Revival? Apr 22 2024, 04:46:02 PM
Apart from some regional/community productions, I had only gotten to see the 1NT live with Alice Ripley way back in 2010 prior to embarking on my first ever trip out of the country to see the Donmar production last year. I am so grateful it's back this summer and have tix to see it 4 times in August. I'm curious to see how it translates to a bigger theater, but I hope they don't change up the staging much. I wish I had gotten to see Marin in person to have seen all of what I feel

Donmar’s Next To Normal to Transfer to the West End in 2024 Nov 30 2023, 06:15:58 PM
My fiance forwarded me the email that we qualified to book early since we had attended the production at the Donmar. I automatically booked tickets to the matinee and evening shows on August 24th!!! This will be my first solo trip out of the country. It didn't feel impulsive at all haha. Praying that Caissie returns and if the show *does* transfer to Broadway, I'm going to plan a trip to see it there too!

The Griswalds' Broadway Vacation -- What's next? Oct 26 2023, 06:08:27 PM
I've lived in Seattle for several years now. I had missed a few premieres at the 5th Avenue/Rep prior to the pandemic so one of my major pledges was to catch as many new musical premieres as I could once we got shows up and running again. I love the 5th Avenue so much (our recent productions of Into the Woods and Sweeney Todd were remarkably good btw!) In 2022, the 5th hosted two premieres: Afterwords and Griswolds Broadway
