Broadway Grosses: Week Ending 8/23/26

The numbers dropped again, and they’ll be even lower next week. Summer’s over, folx.

Okay first full week for team PARANORMAL ACTIVITY.

Happy trails to Luke Evans, Andrew Durand, Stephanie Hsu, Harvey Guillen, and Josh Rivera over at ROCKY HORROR, and shoutout to longtime SIX company manager Katie Pope who left the Horne over the weekend.

September and October are about to be an absolute bloodbath omg. None of it is good news outside of the top 4.

It remains crazy to me how far Wicked has fallen since Part 2 was released. It materially damaged the brand. I think it's different from burnout because following Part 1, the Broadway show did excellent. The lasting impression from the films is, unfortunately, the far inferior film.

I don't think the 2nd movie has damaged the brand. It didn't do as well as the first one, but it did just fine. The Wicked 2 promo tours received more publicity than the lackluster movie itself due to main cast physical appearance and interactions among themselves. People who still hadn't seen Wicked on Broadway before the movies, finally had and it looks like there's no fresh, untapped audience remained for this show. I'm pretty sure though it'll pick up during winter holidays, just like Book of Mormon always does.

I don’t think there’s any correlation between the 2nd film not doing well and Wicked’s grosses dropping.
