Re: ANNIE - 50th Anniversary Broadway revival (Fall, 2027)

Sep 18, 2026 — 2:47:06 PM

I'm counting on Sam Pinkleton to bring a good mix of downtown energy, Broadway chops, and - if there's stunt casting - it will be with big names who can actually sing AND act the parts. Current dream cast: Bridget Everett as Hannigan, Nicholas Christopher as Warbucks, Eva Noblezada as Grace, Aaron Jackson as Rooster, Cat Cohen as Lily.

Happy to see a rave from TheaterMania!“Welcome to whatever the **** this is,” he says, reading our minds, or at least seeming to. It’s a good first trick in a solo show that explodes the idea of what stand-up can be, should be, is. Part hilarious send-up of the form and part real magic act (wait until the end), ta-da!is one of the most hilariously innovative and astutely performed solo come

I got to see it this week after having seen an early version in Brooklyn last year. The show was great before and is even better now. His bits and delivery are tighter and funnier, the PowerPoint design is more elaborate, and the magic more impressive. And his personal stories still made me cry even when I knew what was coming.

JOSH SHARP TA-DAAnnounced today: July 7-August 23 at the Greenwich House TheaterI saw an early version of this show and was blown away. He really does use thousands of Powerpoint slides at rapid speed, and I laughed through the first half and found myself crying by the end. I can't wait to see what he does in this run and with Sam Pinkleton's contributions.

New theater podcast: It's Broadway Bitch

Mar 4, 2025 — 12:16:58 PM

Earlier this week I saw a clip from a new Broadway podcast, It's Broadway Bitch, hosted by comedian Casey Balsham and it drew me in. Now I'm listening to the full episodes and loving it. Her first three interviews are with Grey Henson, Hannah Solow and Jackie Burns and I'm laughing out loud. I've listened to a lot of convos with theater actors but none of the other interviewers make me laugh the way Casey does.

I loved reading Mullally say that this is the favorite thing she's ever done.
