All the Gatsby nominations in design elements...yikes. Just shows that all these so called critics don't actually know what good design is, just how much of it there is. 

Cliff has primarily been cast as a person of color in this production. There have been people of South Asian descent in London in the role too. It sets up a tension and counterpoint for the Sally-Cliff relationship. But it's obvious that the first instinct is for Cliff to be Black, since that contrast rings strongest that way. 

I thought the Sunset performance was such a nothingburger, exactly as it was during the show too. The actual material itself lands without any impact, it's purely about them getting the technical timing right. It barely even relates to/ situates itself among the lyrics. 

As always this thread throws up some of the most baffling takes. Why no one bothers googling for a second to clear a couple of things up, I don't know.
