Cabaret Casting Rumor: Orville Peck & Eva Noblezada
 Jun 7 2025, 02:31:50 AM

Scarywarhol said: "The current stars were sensational! Eva was maybe the best-sung Sally I've ever heard live, and Orville was very exciting. He also seemed to be doing a more human take on the Emcee than the almost supernatural creature this production opened with."

Did Orville Peck wear his mask?

How about this from a collection of show biz snark:

"What can you say about five women whose principal distinguishing characteristic is that they have different names?"

"One of my all-time favorite quotes is "We're actors. We're the opposite of people." Stoppard is brilliant.

Yes, he had some great lines on the world of theatre. He also called the business “a series of insurmountable obstacles on the road to imminent disaster.”

Among her bon mots, she said "I saw many rich people, and they did much to send me back to the masses, to make me proud of being a worker…the rich are our best propagandists."

Dorothy Parker's 1920s theatre reviews

They were influential enough to get her fired from Vanity Fair.

She could be quite savage. My favourite quotes from her reviews are:

"The House Beautiful is, for me, the play lousy."

"The only thing I didn’t like about The Barretts of Wimpole Street was the play."

Of Dame Edith Evans: "Edith looks like something that would eat her young."
