Broadway’s favorite moistened “content creator” has apparently thrown this out into the universe (although the video seems to be down now).
I don’t take stock in what he says at all, but I am intrigued since Orville would be unmasked for the role, a first in his career. Noblezada seems like a safe choice - but also she is going to fly from GG, to HT, and the. Cabaret? Booked and blessed is nice but this has got to be taking a toll on her. Cabaret (this version) is probably a lot harder to rehearse and I’m assuming that she’s under pressure to not call out of HT in London.

Would Orville Peck improve the box office? Seems like a pretty minor figure in the music world still. When he last played New York, it was 2 nights at the Paramount Theater in BK, which has 2700 seats. He’s got about about 800K insta followers, which isn’t a scientific metric by any means but is MUCH less than Lambert or Zegler or D’Amilio, for example.
I'm a huge fan of Orville Peck and he is one of the few names that would absolutely get me to return to this production, but, yeah, he's not a big name overall.
FWIW, though, prior to adopting the persona of Orville Peck, he worked professionally as a stage actor. I'd certainly be curious to see him return to that. And he'd certainly bring a much different sound to the role. As for the mask- he's switched to a smaller mask in recent years, perhaps he'll transition out of using it entirely. But it would fit for the Emcee, I suppose, particularly in this production where the Emcee is all facade anyway.
But we'll see if this pans out, particularly with Noblezada's commitment to Hadestown in London.

Orville did say he had something in the works for Broadway back in September so possibly. I just can't imagine Eva would want to just KEEP pushing through these roles with no rest period. I could see it if they had Reeve as Emcee, but this match up seems just kind of... pointless for someone who has now originated two lead Broadway roles in just the last few seasons.
all depends when they would start. I thin Eva would want a break after Hadestown in the West End.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.
I think this is the first time in the three years this has been open in the west end and the year this had been on broadway that this is the first casting that I don’t care much about
It’s cool that cabaret is rumored to stay open, I absolutely love that, but this rumor just doesn’t get me too incredibly excited
I would fly back to NYC for this casting. I loved this production and love Orville Peck. I’ve been tempted to fly to London to see Billy Porter. Maybe both?

I'm surprised that so many on this board know who this dude is ...just some gay mask wearing country singer that nobody in our circle seems to know lol.

Now that you mention it, I had been hearing there were rumors of it closing due to the dropping box office and that’s why Porter was offered London instead of Broadway.

this seems off, this show needs a real WOW to keep going and Eva and Orville don't seem like "event" casting, there was just a show off-broadway featuring Orville Pecks music that was a total flop

It was also a small dance show that Peck had no involvement in (I don’t think he even plugged it on social media). Not comparable to the actual person being onstage.

'Once Upon a One More Time' flopped too. Totally different thing from the artist being on stage.
