I mean, maybe I'm biased, but I'm there for it! 🐵

Broadway Grosses: Week Ending 5/31/26

Fred Mason said: "People are abandoning Broadway and just going to Lincoln Center now. The opera and ballet and philharmonic have never been fuller. LCT seems to be benefiting from this too."

You and your mom don't count as a significant sample size for such a statement.

The Tony Awards Quiz 2026

Personal best of 106/110 -- it's the damn quotes that always get me!

RAGTIME 2025 Reviews

Will be a short run if the show is indeed not extending and closing in July.

They should really just rename the character to "Zaddy" now.

THE LOST BOYS Reviews

New footage of The Lost Boys, starring Shoshana Bean:

Pretty sure he's actually from Bermuda, not the Bahamas.

Sweaty Oracle: The Conspiracy to Buy Broadway?

I think we'll be OK. Aside from the disgusting coziness of some of the relationships, I just don't think they'd try to MAGA-ify one of the most liberal industries, in one of the most liberal cities in the world. (From directors, to designers, to cast members, who would work for them?)

Even if they did make it the Branson of the North, how would they convince their brethren that NYC is no longer the supposedly "most dangerous city in America" to

Three Days Of Rain/A Few Good Men/Other Desert Cities revivals

Corenswet and Arnaud should star in the Brokeback Mountain adaptation -- I'd be sat for that in a second.

Unpopular Opinions

While I am no expert on Ball culture, I think you're missing the forest for the trees. You're trying to impose a strict, current definition of "drag" upon a scene that didn't have such strict definitions as we do now. Ball culture was compromised of trans women, and others outside the gender norm, joyously celebrating themselves, as themselves -- labels are kinda erroneous. And yes, within that, they called what they were wearing as their *drag* -- but not within the str

Unsubstantiated Rumor Abour ATG

There’d be 7 concurrently running lavish productions of Follies, all claiming to be the definitive, and thecompany would be bankrupt in 3 months.

I'd expect nothing less from our brain trust.

Truly a class act -- a really nice way to frame something that must be personally devastating, but also a part of the business you're in. Good for her!

Beaches is finally beached. And be careful with exclamation points -- you don't want to be accused of celebrating people losing their jobs. 🙄

Kristin Chenoweth We Appreciate YOU

It's not a personal attack on her -- the show sucked. No one is owed anything if their vehicle ain't roadworthy.

TWO STRANGERS (CARRY A CAKE ACROSS NEW YORK) Reviews

As we say in the South, bless your heart.

Obviously, you place more on sets and bombast than others do -- and that's OK. But you also have to accept that many, many others place more import on a well-written book, solid songwriting, and a cohesive whole than just ...sets. That's not the "downfall of theatre", it's personal taste (which may not be aligned with your own.)

Jamie Lloyd Much Ado Broadway Transfer

Regarding potential Jamie Lloyd burnout, I say: give me more. He's the hardest-working director on both sides of the pond and is clearly changing the game. It's entirely possible Lloydwins BOTH directorial Tonys in 2027.

RENT 30th Anniversary Concert - 10/26 at Richard Rodgers Theatre

BrodyFosse123 said: ""

A neat little detail about the poster art: "The poster art for the 30th anniversary concert has been designed by Naomi Mizusaki, who created the show’s first iconic ad, and Drew Hodges, who led the original design team for Rent."

I think it's pretty perfect; pays homage to the original, and doesn't look like a 30-minute Photoshop/AI monstrosity. It would make a great cover for a "Rent @ 30: Live" album release...

Little Shop...Who Leads? Anyone know?

And in other Little Shop news, cutie patootie Claybourne Elder will join the cast as Orin Scrivello, DDS. Starts May 24 -- I'd love to see him cut loose and flex his zany comedic muscles. (Which... I'm assuming he has.)

OH, MARY Reviews (2026 New)

The silver lining is you'll see Maya Rudolph! Personally, I'd rather see her any day over lil' Timmy.

I am very confused. Various press articles stated that Timothee Chalamet was staring in the title role starting June 22. I bought a ticket to see him. These Press articles ran all over the United States. What is going on?
"

Look at the date the article came out -- April 1...

Not to mention the last paragraph, wishing everyone a Happy April's Fool Day.
