The West End reviews are interesting to read, especially when compared to the raves the production received here -- is it truly a difference in sensibilities, or some mild revenge for many of the recent West End transfers that NYC didn't like? (Critic-wise, at least.)

It's interesting to me that this is an asylum-set concept -- other than the main casting, I had no idea it was set a lá Doyle until reading this thread. I saw the production photos before reading about the concept, and thought it looked much more similar to the OG design than obviously being set in Fogg's Asylum; kinda seems half-aßed to me. (At least from not seeing it in person.)

For a bit of context about the "podcast", it's a 3 episode "special" of the Playbill Podcast -- it's not as if they're organizing, recording, and mixing a full run of podcasts. And the producers are only featured in the first episode. They certainly have a passion for the material -- and Warner Brothers (and other rights holders) were super protective of the IP. America is an outlier in the use of the word "partner"; throughout the rest of the world -- especially in Europe and Asia -- it's much more widely used as a general term for a life partner. Just as common, if not more, for hetrosexual couples as same-sex. I would not assume anything by the wording.
Major props to Lea for being such an open and loving public figure.
