My question is: Shoudn't the best musical have to be eligible for best score? You will never convince me that a musical that is not eligible for "Best Score" i.e. Best Music, should be allowed to win Best Musical. NEVER NEVER NEVER. Remember "Contact"winning a few years ago? I just found it so thrilling that an old fashioned musical was finally re-done right. Every single cast member of Pajama Game was a triple threat. The sets and costumes were delightful. The choreography and orchestrations were not at all campy or cheesy, they just added to the fun of the production. It's nice to see a cast love the production the way PG's cast does. Pajama Game did something that Sweeney did not. It took an older musical and didn't alter it completely, it just made it better....

I agree... The score to RAGS is so powerful, it really deserves to get some attention. I'd also like to see Maury Yeston's 'Phantom' re-worked and put on Broadway. It'd also be nice to see a 'My Fair Lady' back on Broadway.

I'm doing a research paper on just that. How critics and reviews affect a Broadway show- negatively or positively. What I'd like from all of you is your opinion. I haven't completely decided on how I'm going to organize this paper. So far it's looking like I will choose shows that fit into three categories: Rave, Mixed, and Negative.
