I found the show utterly boring and charm free. The Poppins character is part of an ensemble and never rises above that. I was utterly disappointed at having gone all the way to london, to see it on its own turf, and was flabbergasted at how dull and LONG it was. The most surprising thing is the lack of MAGIC on the stage. With all the stagecraft at our disposal today it amazed me how little was employed. If you think the marquee needs magic...wait until you see the show ! boring.

I got such a chuckle from these two reviews on the dancing in DOLLY at Papermill. From Theatermania.com:...Michaels's choreography is inventive and expansive for "Dancing," but the "Waiters' Gallop" is a disorganized free-for-all, a random series of unrelated gags that stubbornly refuse to gather momentum. The title song begins, inevitably, with Feldshuh descending that staircase and contains the expected duck-walking waiters and the parade around a runway that is otherwise hardly used here. ...

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, especially since so many of you have already bought tickets for this charmless musical. But, i went all the way to london just to see this and was utterly disappointed. There is no "magic" in this show and it is directed and choreographed so amateurishly. PLEASE don't go in with any type of expectations from the movie or you will be crushed. From her 1st appearance ( and not even flown in) this show just drags on and is a bore.
