Marquee Value : A Chorus Line / What do you think of Mary Poppins?

What a let down. Broadway marquees/theaters are so boring to look at on the outside. They need to jazz it up or something. It just looks so plain.

I agree about the marquee...the show is simplistic, but the new logo with the red background just doesn't sit well...I'm assuming they'll dress up the outside of the theatre a little bit more as opening night approaches, because when I was in the city on Tuesday I saw that they had just hung two posters featuring photographs of the line from the rear...all I have to say is Deirdre Goodwin is going to be fierce.

I like it. It has a very classic/classy feel to it. When I first saw the photograph of the line from the rear, i had mixed feelings about it but that didn't stop me from downloading the screensaver from ACL.com. Now i'm used to it, I love it!

The show is simple, so it needs a simple marquee. I bet they'll add more pictures, ect once it gets closer to opening night

No glitz and glamour. Like the life of a Broadway gypsy. I like it myself.

Charlotte d'Amboise and Deirdre Goodwin will both be excellent.

Burgundy is not a great colour for the background. Gold on a red background would have looked superior.

To be honest it is the story of the chorus line there is no glitz.

It's simplistic and classy. Just like the show. I think it fits the show well and the pictures of the line are very nice.

I agree that the show should have a simplistic logo but I think this is just ugly.

if you go to ibdb.com and you look at the posters flashing of the current shows the picture there is a little more standable. It has the backs of some people in the show but it is all done in pastels.

I wasn't really focusing on the actual logo, but moreso the whole marquee. I just think the Schoenfeld has such a horribly boring marquee. It's just a long black box with some posters capped on the ends. It's nothing like the Imperial, which at least is something nice to look at.

While I've never attened a show based on how cool the marquee is, I do think the outside of the theatre looks boring...

I recall that it was acquired for display at a history of New York City museum of some sort. I don't think it went to the junkyard.

No, I don't judge a show based on the Marquees either, I'm just saying most of them are rather uninspired. When compared to the really classy West End marquees, I think Broadway is lacking in that deparment. When I think of Broadway - as I'm sure many people do - I think glitz and bright lights, but when looking at some of the marquees, they're rather subdueded and bland.

I think Dirty Rotten's is better, but I like this one.
