I saw this performance also and thought the same thing. Ryan Alvarado is awful- just dreadful as burr- nearly unwatchable. the rest of the cast is stellar. Why is he a lead replacement?

really? that's how you respond? This is the place where tons of Broadway plays and musicals are born. And it's been destroyed or is on fire. Plus, I just said that my family's house burned down. nice.

Please keep your thoughts with Ojai as it battles terrible wildfires along with the rest of southern California. Some of Broadways biggest hits (Fun Home included) had their first readings at the Ojai Playwrights Conference. Our family's Estate, (my late aunt's home) which is down the road from the Besant Hill School in the Upper Ojai Valley burned to the ground on Tuesday morning, and most of the upper valley is in ruins. Jobs in a broadway house that are NOT performing

most of the bartending and vendor jobs are contracted out to other companies who service multiple theaters- so when you get a job with them you work in many different theaters and shows.

Brian Stokes Mitchell- he was a few years ahead of me and by the time I was in the theater dept he was doing a lot at the Old Globe- he used to come in every year and talk to us about the "business". (this was 35 years ago lol.) Also Annette Benning, but I'm not sure she's done much on Broadway.

some of the best theater in California is actually in San Diego- at the Old Globe Theater and the La Jolla Playhouse

ugh- I saw this. It was my daughter (who was 4 1/2) 's first broadway show and we sat 4th row center. It was close enough to see the disdain on the faces of the other actors. They changed the keys but that didn't make the songs sound any better- the music (except for the added song) was just a bad fit for her voice (and her acting was terrible.) No, to answer your question, not a good decision.
