I say this as about as big of a Floyd Collins fan as you can get – this production is a mess right now. The biggest issue is that the sound mix is just terrible, which hopefully they can fix soon. Saw this over the weekend. Absolutely hated it. Production is a complete mess. Represents pretty much everything about "new musical theatre" that I just can't stand, which is unfortunate because I like Nick Blaemire, Lee Sunday Evans, and Duster - and the movie! I agree, excellent odds for him to win. I think it'll be a race between d'Arcy James and Groff and it's a toss up. Both beloved by the industry giving career-best performances and a win for either would be legacy wins.

I saw this a few weeks ago and enjoyed it! Got discount tickets through TodayTix for a Sunday afternoon performance. Pretty much a full house when I went! I agree that this would've been more effective with multiple voice actors rather than a single narrator perspective. I don't know the source, but I assume the book was from the same perspective? But the design of this show was very cool, especially sound and lighting.Not the best thing I've ever seen, but worth catching!
