Funny you should mention this. I had the same problem. I wanted to see a show tonight, but there was absolute NOTHING I was interested in seeing. Slim pickings. And I usually like to go back to see shows I've seen. NOTHING interesting. So I went back to see if I really didn't like THE OUTSIDERS as much as I didn't the first time. Did the Obies ever award Shakespeare in the park performances? In this case they definitely should. Hell, she should get an award for the best looking statue in New York City.

Despite some Casting problems and the endless schticky moments with the shepherds and trickster (Thank God for Steven Skybell), I liked it…I really liked it! Hell, I’ll go to anything with Lily Rabe. And she was really electric here.I know Shakespeare had to appeal to the groundlings, but some of the “low humor” is just annoying as hell. But it’s a solid Shakespeare in the park. Lovely evening

Saw this last night. it’s basically an Encore’s version of the show - not a lot of blocking - a lot of standing down stage singing songs, but the voices are generally excellent. And lots of lighting effects and a lighting rig that looks like something out of Close Encounters.Alternating principals - I saw Killian Donnelly as Valjean and Bradley Jaden as Javert. Feelings: Sam Rockwell is too light for the role. No matter how good Marin Ireland is, the role is tiny. Alfred Molina is about the most ideally cast. Who is playing Rodolfo and his brother?

Saw this tonight. Matteo Lane acts like he doesn’t really care about anything. I think that’s just his style, but it’s really annoying for Billy. Christa Rodriguez is serviceable as Roxy but there’s no attempt at a character. She’s just kind of a modern girl who talks really fast and is devoid of emotion. Sophia is pretty fabulous dancing-wise but, as with so many people in this show, she talks too fast and not loud enough so you miss a lot of what’s going on. Interest

Maya Rudolph for the win. Suffered through this show twice with Cole and didn’t laugh once. (Went back because I thought I must be missing something. I wasn’t) This is not Medea. Or even Madea. But Rudolph made it a crazy, genius Romp. I was giggling constantly through the show. And her audition segment was side-splitting. Kudos to the rest of the cast too, especially Cheyenne Jackson.Wish I had seen Jinkx But Maya salvaged it for me. P.

I do wish they had done something fresh with the Bear Back Story. Every time we have to deal with his story, the show stops.

I saw this last night, too Was this even a show? Daniel Radcliffe running around for an hour 15. With very little pay off at the end. What a rip off - At outrageous prices.
