WOW. I remember when people didn't expect it to even extend through January.

This is GREAT news!
Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.

so should i buy tickets for july 2nd or are they going to extend again? i really want to be at the final performance!

Do both, of course. I'd get tickets for the 2nd because you never know what kind of legs a show is going to have. If it extends again, you can always save up for another ticket. Besides, that way you'll be supporting the show and helping it continue extending.

i think i've supported this show a lot already...seeing the show for the fifth time this Sunday...Kelli's final! (and i'm seeing it for the sixth time in February)
If July 2nd just turns out to be another regular performance, I would be extremely disppointed.
in any case, long live Piazza. definitely one of the best shows on broadway right now.

I hope it keeps extending so I can see it whenever I go back to NYC

As we get closer to July, it should become more clear whether or not Piazza will be able to extend again. Just stay up on attendance and other possible tenants for the theatre and make a judgement about it.

How long will Vicki stay?
Question: Will Esparza win for The Homecoming?
BobbyBubby: I hope so. If only for the mental health of many people on this board.

Are Victoria Clark and Chris Sarandon (Joanna Gleason's husband) sticking with it that long????
Don't f*ck with me fellas. This ain't my first time at the rodeo.

Chris Sarandon will most likely stay that long (since he just started in September). Hopefully Victoria will stay 'till the end as well.

plum, other tenants isn't really useful here because lct already moved seascape to a different theatre even though it was supposed to open at the beaumont.
anyway, yay for this. the day i saw this show was one of my best days in the theatre ever.

I thought Tom Stoppard's Coast of Utopia trilogy was supposed to take up residence at the Beaumont next Fall. That being such an enormous undertaking in and of itself, done in repretory, I'm not sure if LCT could/would want to rent another theatre for that.

If you want to wait to see if that's the final performance, good seats go on sale a few days before the show, I think. That's how I got mine.

So does this mean that all four of the BEST MUSICAL nominees are going to be still running come Tony time? Has that ever happened before?
that's a really big mic...

Such happy news really brightens up a rainy day.
Now that the show will be around for a little while longer can someone work on making new t-shirts? I really really hate the one they're selling.

Who of the original principles will still be there in Spring. I think I'll be in the city in May (*crosses fingers*) and I'm DYING to see the show. I'm sure I'll still see it no matter who's there, but that doesn't satisfy my curiosity, now does it?

Now if Victoria stays with the show I will be even happier. But I'm getting greedy.

Yay for Piazza but BOO for me because I bought a ticket for March 26th because I thought I was gonna get to go to closing night!

If this is official, then it is ridiculous. While I liked Victoria & Kelli, the sets & costumes, and a few of the songs, I think Piazza as a whole is overrated, and its closing notice should've stayed at January 1.

I'm so excited that it's been extended.
Think about it. An original musical that is not based on a movie or already written songs is still running. How amazing is that in this day and age?
A friend and I are trying to plan a trip to NYC for this summer. If we could see this show and Sweeney Todd, I'd be as happy as a pig in mud.
