I heard from a reliable source that Brooklyn signed a 12 month lease with the Shuberts/Plymouth.

Ben Brantley must love this. I think the show is actually very good but what the hell do I know....

I give it until March. The sooner they clear that theatre, the sooner "Doubt" can have a home.

I bet it wins the Tony.

I'll take that bet. How about $1 million?

Careful, Margo. What constitutes "the Tony"?

And if you call ability to survive on almost no attendance due to extremely low running costs "beating the critics," you and I have very different definitions of that term, CosmoQueen.

I'll take the bet on any of the 22 categories.

It won't win ANYTHING.

Margo...I challenge you to debate theatre at Tony's in NYC pre Tony's night. I will find a sponsor and we can show it live on this site. You in?

Not worth my time.

And by the way, it's "Tonys" -- no apostrophe.

As much as I love BKLYN, it has no shot at winning any award, especially Best Musical..

The only potential nominee at this point for this show would be Ramona Keller, which isnt even a lock.

Also, cant the theatre owners "kick" Brooklyn out if it goes below its weekly nut two weeks in a row?

Margo, I'll be willing to put $500,000 in, if you can pony up the other...

"Brooklyn" will close very soon, win no Tonys, and be quickly forgotten.

Actually, I would be interested in a debate the day AFTER the Tonys, IF you bring the $1 million ..... in cash.

I do not have money but I can promise a debate that will go down in history. Let's put it this way after the debate you will not be the expert on any site.........I promise.

"Also, cant the theatre owners "kick" Brooklyn out if it goes below its weekly nut two weeks in a row?"

Yes, Benzy. Broadway shows with open runs don't lease theatres out for a specific amount of time, regardless of cosmo's claim that she has a "reliable source" that BROOKLYN has a 12-month lease on the Plymouth. It just doesn't work that way, it never has, and I cannot fathom any circumstances where the producers of BROOKLYN would be able to negotiate a special 12-month contract clause on a theatre as desirable as the Plymouth with the Shuberts.

Veuve, you know that and I know that, but CosmoQueen apparently lives in her/his own little world.

It's called a "stop clause" -- look it up, CosmoQueen.

I'd say that I belive that BRRKKYLYLYN won't win any tony awards... but I don't have that kind of faith in the tony voters... I wouldn't take that bet... but that's just me...

Well, pro wrestling hasn't been so good as of late, luckily I can get my fill of smack talk from CosmoQueen.

His catchphrase could be "... but what do I know?"

Then Margo could hit him/her with a chair.

"Brooklyn" won't even be nominated for Best Musical. Those 4 spots will go to "Spamalot", "Little Women", "DRS", and "Light on the Piazza".

Eden will not be nominated.

Ramona is a good possibility. She will be nominated, unless Sherie, Sara, and Kelli are all considered Supporting.

The score, book, costumes, sets, lighting, etc. will be forgotten.

Very soon, "Brooklyn", like its characters, will be homeless.
