Her last album sold poorly and was a total snooze. I never listen to it. I welcome a cover album.
"The sexual energy between the mother and son really concerns me!"-random woman behind me at Next to Normal
"I want to meet him after and bang him!"-random woman who exposed her breasts at Rock of Ages, referring to James Carpinello
Did anyone buy or listen to Nostalgia? I said I wasn't going to buy it...but ended up pulling out the wallet. Upon, first listen I wasn't too thrilled with it. Upon listening to it multiple times, I grew to like it a lot. Lennox has such a beautiful voice and the arrangement of some of the songs really showcases that voice. Would I have loved more of a variety of songs? Yes. Would I have loved new music from her? Yes. But this cd was more enjoyable than I thought it would be. I'm glad I purchased it.
I wasn't too thrilled with it either ArtMan but then I listened to Aretha Franklins new covers album and makes the Lennox album seem like a classic. :)
"I hope your Fanny is bigger than my Peter."
Mary Martin to Ezio Pinza opening night of Fanny.
Typically not the style of music I would reach for but I attended the CD signing at Barnes & Noble. I've listened to it several times since I acquired it and really enjoy it.
Of course, I would have preferred her own songs but this is enjoyable.
Brian, Annie did a signing? OMG...what was she like? She is on my diva list to see live. Although I did see her perform as The Eurythmics, I want to see her solo. The cd grew on me, the more I listened to it. I'm glad I ended up getting it.
