Re: THELMA & LOUISE Musical in the Works

I don't think everything needs to be on Broadway. Case is a beautiful songwriter-her lyrics are very nuanced and emotionally evocative. I think this could be a fantastic chamber piece with some place like New Group or Signature. If they shoot for Broadway I think it could get overblown and ruined.

For the love of god, please let Kathryn Hahn play Mary. She is a comedic genius.

She is a remarkable actress. I'd pay top dollar to see her in anything.

Re: Why is Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf so popular?

Aside from the quality of the play itself, I believe audiences like roles that allow actors to go all out. Audiences feel they get their moneys worth when actors chew scenery. I thought Amy Morton was spectacular as Martha.

Any chance she is taking over for Catherine Russell in Perfect Crime?

September L. Davis --- THE APOLOGY TOUR

I found this character tiring after the first few bits. Ana is wildly talented and her Christmas show was sublime on every level. This also felt like an attempt to rip off something like “Broadway Barbara” who has created a much more successful fully embodied character.

I've gone twice and would never go again. I've never encountered more rudeness, shoving and ugly behavior than at this event. I am a very patient person and the attendees wore me out within an hour. Super annoying and most offerings were garbage.

Don’t they give you a refill at intermission. That’s $4.50 a ginger ale.

I was hoping for Orville Peck, but he is touring this fall. Shears is a let down for me. He was abysmal in Kinky Boots. This is more in his wheelhouse so we'll see. He and the Pentatonix girl sold no tickets at Kinky. I feel he wasn't a first choice.

Re: P!nk and her daughter are doing Next to Normal

If this were to happen, I think there would be an unwritten, unspoken backlash in the Broadway community. I don’t think the theater voting community would like this and not want to set a precedent. Namely, a big star ingratiating themselves to the Broadway community with cloying bravado only to slip in a major revival with their kid. The show will not win anything. Also, everyone will kiss Pinks a#* to her face while secretly resenting her.

I just saw this show at the Chautaqua Institute. I loved every minute. I agree the premise was a little too much at times, but those glorious voices won me over. I also agree that country opera song was not a great fit as I couldn't understand a word of it.

OH, MARY Reviews (2026 New)

My initial concern about the casting of Meg was whether or not she had the training or craft to do the role. I have no insight into her background. To me it seemed like she was a cringe comic and social media star who broke through. I truly enjoy her but wondered how she would approach the character. Does she have a process or would she play it the same as everything she does. I found her acting uneven and lacking in the Lena Dunham penned vehicle which was cancelled. She also does a lot of "...

Three Days of Rain confirmed

I actually think Francois will be the biggest draw. He’s an excellent actor with diverse credits and a sizable following. He’s on a show that became a phenomenon. His character and storyline was preferred by many to the leads. He actually seems most annoyed by the Heated Rivalry fervent fandom. I don’t see him engaging with the stans at the stage door. I think he’ll skip it most days. Those frauen can be intense, demanding and scary.

BLACK SWAN and WONDER world premiere musicals and more set for American Repertory Theatre

Saw this last night and while I enjoyed it a great deal, it needs work. It worked best for me if I treated it as a separate entity from the film as it veers a great deal. The dancing and choreography is off the charts. Just stunning. Every dancer is giving 120% and Melanie Moore is a force of nature no idea how she does the show multiple times a week. Her performance as Nina is quite good but a little uneven.Amber Iman as a reinvented Leroy is excellent. She was a standout.Tonally I found the ...
