I did include SASEs with all of my letters. I seem to get quicker responses when I send a SASE.
Hunter Foster is the only one I never received a response from, but oh well.
thanx but the mommie thing was a joke
Sigh.
Ethel Merman most certainly is NOT doing a hip hop CD; she died in 1984, at age 76.
It was a joke, and an abstracted reference to her disco album.
Kids. Sheesh.
Krisjoseph, that's not funny. Jokes about soemone dying are in bad taste. The hip hop joke was cute but this isn't.
Orion, the joke was about the hip hop CD, not about her having passed after a long and healthy life. Taste is relative.
I still think that saying someone is dead is in very bad taste
Wow. Then I guess I owe Beethoven a HUGE apology!
She really IS dead, you know -- unlike Elvis. Look it up.
I don't get the Beethovan refrence but Merman is a living legend...have some respect. Very few have accomplished what she has in her lifetime. I for one look forward to her next project
Then you're gonna LOVE her hip hop CD! Croonio is doing a guest appearance on a wack new version of "Whattaman". I hear it's the shizzle.
Well, even if her next cd were going to be hip hop, I would rush out and buy it. It's been so long since she's done anything. i'm hoping she will follow the example of some of the other older BW legends like Bea Arthur and Elaine Stritch and do a one woman show focusing on her career.

Plum, are you the only who's getting it? Is that why you're looking on in amusement?
Just got an email from Frances Ruffle!!! Yay! She's sending me a signed picture.

I'm not sure what "it" is. Sarcasm is sometimes hard to convey in print. But yes, I'm amused. :)
I wasn't being sarcastic, just having some fun. Wanted to see just how stupid people would believe I could be. Sarcasm is usually negative...this was just for fun.

Gotcha. But like I said, it's sometimes hard to convey that kind of stuff in print. You did a good job of walking the line so you stayed believable while saying the weirdest things, so it was hard to tell. :)
