I am convinced that Josefina should've won the Tony. She is fabulous! Matt has a wonderful voice and so does Karen and the rest of the cast.

Oh my goodness, I think I pulled a muscle from laughing so hard. Obviously, the OP has not seen South Pacific which is the best show I've seen that's currently running (I haven't seen BE, N2N, or Hair yet)

Jeez guys. Muscle doesn't deserve mockery for this post. Yes, it'd be helpful to know which others shows have been seen. Still, that music which is being played forcefully, that choreography even if somewhat diminished, the committed performances by most of the leads make a positive review worthy of respect if not agreement.
The current production of West Side Story is the worst thing I have ever seen on Broadway. Hands down. I enjoyed sitting through Urban Cowboy more. There was not ONE moment during the production that I was moved. Absolutely horrible. I am horrified so many tourists are going, just because of the name and the convenient location. What an awful representation of Broadway Musical Theatre.
"I think it's more mockery of the million of idiotic threads and opinions of his we've had to suffer through throughout the years."
You are completely out of hand. You have ABSOLUTELY NO right to say someone's opinion is idiotic. You need to stop acting like you are so god damn superior and stop insulting so many people and calling them idiots. You are no so perfect yourself and you really should be getting all the hate from everyone on the board.
Now for the Original Poster. While you are perfectly fine for having your opinion I disagree. I personally liked the current WSS production and I LOVE Karen Olivo but it's not the best. Hair and In The Heights are my personal favorites. I think Hair is a flawless production.

When I saw the show in DC I was, also, not moved at all during the show. But when I revisited while Matt was on his honeymoon I was moved to tears when Tony died. IMHO, Matt Hydzik makes you care about his Tony more.

I actually saw Hydzik play Tony. Cavenaugh was out the night I saw it, which I was very grateful for. I do not care for his voice or acting style in the least. He was in the same in Grey Gardens as he was in A Catered Affair as he is in West Side Story. The new cast recording makes my ears bleed. Give me the OCR any day of the week.

I "x" the shows I've seen. Thanks for the ones sticking up for me. There are people that don't have a life, so I give them something to talk about. I say let those have fun! I can't even talk anything w/o that ***hole bringing up Bombay Dreams, which was a great show he probably hasn't even seen. But that was in 2004 and we are in 2009, some don't believe in evolution. At least get a new joke! Anyways, going back to the topick... I loved South Pacific, but I loved WSS a lot more. I like a lot of dance numbers in musicals, so I guess that's why I'd pick WSS over it, and I prefer the score and the fact that it has a lot more songs written for a soprano(Kelli O'Hara barely hit the high notes she hits in Piazza or Dracula in SP). But I think South Pacific is probably my 2nd favorite.

Nobody is forcing you to read my threads, feel free not to. And you need to stop acting like you're 12. You're 65 for Christ's sake!

How exactly am I acting like a 12 year old (When I am actually 14)? You are the immature one! I was standing up for this person and trying to teach you that being immature and saying someone's opinions and comments are idiotic is wrong! You think you're funny but your just obnoxious and annoying.
muscle in your defense you do have a right to your opinion. although your reasons for it are a bit sketchy at best: lots of dance numbers and more songs written for sopranos do not in my opinion a great show make.
The Light in the Piazza is my favorite show of all time. I saw Celia Keenan-Bolger play the role of Clara 15 times, and I will ALWAYS think she was the best choice for the role - and was better than Kelli. (Kelli was AMAZING as Franca in the Seattle and Chicago productions)
With that being said, there were NO notes in the score of Piazza that Kelli "barely hit". That statement is laughable. As is your statement that WSS is the best show currently on Broadway.
If you want to see a REAL show - go see Our Town Off Broadway. Seriously.
