got this from a former customer:

I’m looking for some really good websites to have students research musicals. I’d like the site to give a synopsis of the musical and if possible play songs from the musical too. If you have any suggestions that would be great. I’m going to look myself too.

If you guys have any ideas for her, please forward to me and I'll pass them on.
Thanks in advance.

It is ridiculous to set a detective story in New York City. New York City is itself a detective story... AGATHA CHRISTIE, Life magazine, May 14, 1956

Mtishows has a detailed summary and song clips for the shows they release rights to. It is not every show though. That's a great idea she has!

I know many consider it very unreliable but for basic information such as plot etc Wikipedia covers pretty much every musical, and the external links/sources can be very handy to direct you to further reading.

I think Tams Witmark and R&H have their shows all online too- that overs the vast majority, with song clips and upcoming productions too.

It doesn't have clips and is still in beta, but check out:

A friend and I founded it, and we're getting close to the final version (which will be kind of wiki-esque)
