So, I'm seeing Les Mis next week (so excited!) but I haven't been to this venue before and plan on taking the NJ Transit from Penn to Millburn; my question is:
once I get off at Millburn, what the most effective and efficient way to get to the Playhouse? Thanks in advance!
Wishing, having looked at that map before my first trip out, I found it less than helpful to be honest. As you step off the train, just turn to your left and walk down along the platform - in the direction that the train will be doing. There will actually be a map of the walking path to the Playhouse posted on the platform with two routes marked - the quickest way to the playhouse and the route with the better lighting. It's a very quick walk.
Dress warmly! Waiting on the platform for the train back to the city, it seems like the wind is always howling. The enclosed waiting room may or may not be open. I always check the time of the trains back to New York, and if it's a long wait after the show, I'll head over to the Millburn Diner on Essex and Lackawana for coffee and dessert until the next train.
'Our whole family shouts. It comes from us livin' so close to the railroad tracks'
-Once you get off the train you will be facing the parking lot. -Go to your left and walk all the way down the parking lot.
-Once you get to end make a left towards essex.
-Once on Essex your walk down to the 2nd light which will be Millburn Avenue.
-Make a right onto Millburn Avenue.
-On your walk down Millburn Avenue you should see a bike shop and a soccer feild. Just keep heading in that direction and you will see Paper Mill Playhouse on your right.
