I am visiting NYC weekend of Jan 14.
Jan 9 is a big date for the following shows closing:
La Bete
In the Heights
Little Night Music
I have the 14th open for a show and am holding out on buying tickets to The Importance of Being Earnest for that night. I am hoping to catch one of the shows listed above based on the idea that maybe they will extend by at least a week.
I had heard that theatres are rented by the month in NYC (fingers crossed).
Does anyone know if they are going to extend or are likely to extend? My thoughts are La Bete will not and the two musicals might.
Some help with some insight would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks theatre buds!
Not at all... These shows will close on January 9th. Try to see Next to Normal in it's final weekend, if there are tickets left.
If they were going to extend they would have most likely announced it by now. You could wait a little longer to buy tickets to something else, but it is unlikely those shows will extend. Hope this helps!

The only show from this list that would be "extending" would be In The Heights, if it actually does move back to Off-Broadway.
I wish ItH wouldn't close...or at least find another way to live on in NYC so I could see it when I go there. Alas. But none of those shows are extending. So I'll echo wdwfreak in suggesting you try to catch Next to Normal before it closes.
