NEWS FLASH! Betty White has an extensive musical background. She not only sang on countless TV shows (including her own), but she's played numerous classic musical theater roles like Nellie Forbush in SOUTH PACIFIC as well as Anna in THE KING & I.

Also, for those curious ones... multi-award winning Cloris Leachman was Mary Martin's standby in the original Broadway production of SOUTH PACIFIC.
