Horrifying show......the editing was laughable.....was the editor on crack?- The woman who heads the DD was shown introducing the show and welcoming everyone 2/3 into the broadcast!!!!-LOL- . Huge fail......Sutton looked great..Seibert looked like a blimp.....Benanti's number was gawd awful. And I loved the last moment with Julie Halston standing on stage then exiting after they evidently cut her bit out....pitiful 1 1/2 hrs. Don't think it will be broadcast next year-if it is maybe it will be seen on the SciFi channel.
It's Broadway on television. There are snickers and sneers? Why do I pretend to be surprised?
Frankly, there are at least a dozen other award shows that could stand similar editing and chopping. It's an awards broadcast, let's not behave like it's the second butchering of A Star Is Born.
>>>"Dolly, I did not go this year as I was not involved with Producing it this year."<<<
My, my, my! If that was a statement made to impress me, it didn't because as a producer, you're responsible for all that sloppy editing. It was, indeed, a "pitiful 1 1/2 hrs."
I was not a Producer this year. If you watched it you would see I had nothing to do with this production. I produced the galas for nine years. Last year I produced the gala party at 48 Lounge which was a wonderful event but I was not a Producer this season. Updated On: 6/5/11 at 12:27 AM
What an awful mess. The editing was bad, the majority of the winners were undeserving-- the only time I was interested completely (and moved) was when George C. Wolfe paid homage to the many, many, MANY theater artists lost during the AIDS crisis. Other than that, I skipped around a lot. Deleted it from my DVR right away too.
