It is an interesting conversation with him and two other musical people involved with Pippin. His favorite musical part of the current show is the acapella portion of "Morning Glow." I think he also mentioned that he wrote lyrics to the "Manson Trio" tune, for a Ben Vereen recording. Fascinating. I tried to absorb the technical aspects when the discussion involved the current and original cast recordings. Still, it's interesting to hear anecdotes about Pippin 1972. from RC in Austin, Texas
A Conversation With Stephen Schwartz
It's so great to see them have a casual conversation, rather than a formal interview. It seems like we get to hear a lot of awesome candid stories! He hasn't done many interviews about Pippin.
Someone please talk to Stephen about you know what. He's starting to look like Corky.
Really interesting to hear about the dancers.
If Schwartz grew a beard, he would be perfect for the lead in WAITING FOR GUFFMAN: THE MUSICAL with music and lyrics by Kander and (the ghost of) Ebb.
Wouldn't GUFFMAN be a great K&E project, though?
