I never saw Andrea Martin in the role, so I have no baseline to compare Annie Potts with, but I thought she was really great! I saw her on only her second or third performance, but I thought she was in very good voice, handled the humor of the role quite well, and especially the physicality of "No Time At All." The audience absolutely loved her! Tremendous applause after her song! I think she's a perfectly lovely replacement!
For the younger people who might not know why Annie Potts is so beloved/adorable/hilarious: Big Haas and Little Falsie
"The gods who nurse this universe think little of mortals' cares. They sit in crowds on exclusive clouds and laugh at our love affairs. I might have had a real romance if they'd given me a chance. I loved him, but he didn't love me. I wanted him, but he didn't want me. Then the gods had a spree and indulged in another whim. Now he loves me, but I don't love him." - Cole Porter
Annie Potts is wonderful. I don't think she turns in a show-stopping performance like Andrea did, but she sounds great and handles the tricks quite well.
Saw her last week and thought she was really good. Way better than Tovah (who just seems like she takes herself WAY too seriously). She handles the part (and all of it's 'parts') quite well.
Enjoyed the show at least as much as the first time. Rachel Bay Jones is stil the best thing about the show (IMHO)
