Looking though a box yesterday and found a 7/5/2005 ticket Nationals/Mets at RFK. First row behind home plate - best sports seat in my life. Pedro Martinez pitched that day.
Last week I bought 28 tickets to see Red Sox v. Mets at Citifield in August. I'm from Boston and a lifelong Red Sox Fan, but overall, more importantly, I enjoy the game. The baseball itself. On our honeymoon, my husband I went to a game in Montreal to see the Expos play the Pirates, just because.
Goes without saying, not a fan of the Yankees, but love the rivalry. Living in southern Connecticut we are in the throes of enemy territory and I have fun bantering with Yankees fans.
My husband grew up as a Mets fan (converted a bit to Red Sox while at college in Boston), loves telling stories about Tom Seaver (Tom once pitched nine innings in a game and when it went into extra innings came in to pitch the 10th).
So, it should be fun to see the Sox play the Mets at Citifield. To add to our good fortune, it's a giveaway night! Bobblehead night!!Let's see... the bobblehead giveaway is... from the 1986 World Series championship Mets team. Ugh, maybe not so good.
well, yes, they lost a few but still. I mean compare them this season to every single other recent season. I think they're playing much better. And they still have a few of their strongest players on the DL.
Not happy about these rumors swirling around about trading Murph. I know he sometimes looks ridiculous but at other times just steps up and brings in that much needed run. He's been a Metropolitan his entire professional career. Please Sandy don't so it.
I heard those rumors a few weeks ago as well. I don't think they ever came from the team but were started by bloggers who like to play "the what could we get for this guy" game. That was about 3 weeks ago when he was hitting around .170. Now that he's been really hot, leading the team in RBIs and is almost to .250, I'm not hearing those rumors anymore. For the record, I think he has always been incredibly underrated. His weakness has always been his fielding but I think it's not nearly that bad and his bat more than makes up for it.
Do you mean Eric Campbell? I think he's been a decent fill in for Wright but he's only batting .241 and hasn't done anything yet that has made me say wow. I think the pitching staff with a healthy Harvey, an ageless Colon and great looking youngsters like DeGrom and Syndergaard, that is where the excitement for me has been. If Wright ever comes back and D"Arnaud has a good year along with Duda, Grandy and Cuddyer, they just might have a decent year. But I've been following them too long to actually expect it.
