I have an upcoming visit that would allow me to purchases tickets for THE ENCOUNTER with Richard Katz performing instead of Simon McBurney. For those of you familiar with the production from it's London (et al.) incarnations, could you please advise me if Mr. McBurney's performance is worth holding off for until a later date? My impression is that the production here is impressive and I'm not sure how much a particular performer informs the piece. Of course I am sure Mr. Katz is a wonderful actor, but Mr. McBurney conceived and created the piece so I was curious whether viewers thought he brought something special to the performance itself as well.
Also, because such a large part of the production is the aural journey (with headphones), are seating/sightlines concerns a major issue?
Any update on Mr. Katz in the role? Tuesdays evenings and Wednesday matinees are generally when I'm free for theatre and he's always on for those performances.

If he performs in the only shows you can attend, it seems the issue is whether you want to see The Encounter, moreso than whether the alternate is as good as someone your schedule doesn't allow you to see.
