Has a cast been announced for this? It will be here in Seattle next month. Can't find any info on the cast.

Really? it's going on tour? My initial instinct was that it wouldn't do well outside of NYC.

Not only going on tour, but performing in huge theater houses like Cadillac Palace in Chicago which holds 2,500 seats.
I am very curious as to how this would hold up in a large theater.

It's playing here at Seattle Rep, a regional house that's not super huge. Surprised it's going into big touring houses as well.

Yeah, I’m quite worried about it playing the Cadillac. Would have loved to see it play the goodman, like a View from the bridge is doing right now. The humans playing the Cadillac just shows how bad of a decision it was to put Hamilton in the bank theatre.

Not really. Road shows don't want to play the Bank, and this way Hamilton gets to keep their demand higher.

Thomas and Reed will be perfect. Isn't Eagan a bit...mature for Brigid? When I saw her name, I assumed Aimee.

Richard Thomas is going to be exquisite in that role!

It's nice to see Eagan doing a role that has nothing to do with Secret Garden...I feel like that's the only show she ever does (well, that and Joyce's The Dead)...but I know I'm probably wrong.

My friends in D.C. said the cast at the Kennedy Center was fine, but shared my opinion that the show itself was a terribly overrated bore. I'll never understand the wave of accolades it received a few years ago.

Agreed, aside from Jayne Houdyshell I wasn't overly impressed. Eclipsed should've won Best Play

There’s a regional production playing here in Philadelphia that I actually enjoyed more than the Broadway one. It’s at the intimate Walnut Street Theater which helps. Surprised that’ it’s running the same time as the tour in DC.
When they pull out MoMo’s blanket, it gets quite a reaction.

I found a $15 ticket on Stubhub around 4:15 p.m. and decided to buy it. The cast is fine, but I don't understand why such a small show is playing in a huge theater like the Cadillac. It would've been presented much better in the Goodman, like A View from the Bridge.
If you want to go, get orchestra seating, otherwise you'll miss a lot of the show.

I can't even imagine how this would play in the huge touring houses around the country... I thought the show was too small even for the Schoenfeld when it transferred there! The Helen Hayes was the perfect fit for this show.

I was hoping someone (more people) would chime in on this one. I have a ticket to see “The Humans” in Cleveland 4/21 and was pulling away in favor of another road trip, possibly “Beautiful - The Carol King Musical” a month later in Dayton or something else.

Saw this tonight at the Cadillac Palace and loved it. The writing is bitingly funny, and engaging in a way that only the best dialogue can be. What really soared, though, was Mantello's direction - everything about the play was so in synch!! I'm surprised the play is faring well on the tour, but I'm totally glad it's doing so because it deserves to be seen.
It is really weird that such a quiet play is at the Cadillac, for sure, but my wife and I were front row mezz and I thought our seats were great. The staging (which is absolutely brilliant, I should add) works really well from such a distance, and allows you to really see all the characters at once and balance their motivations in a way that might not be possible if you were closer up.

I wasn't sitting in the upper balcony but the show works surprisingly well in a huge (2600-seat) house.
