This may or may not have actually happened. Nevertheless...

Waiter to Sylvia Miles: "Would you like anything else? Coffee perhaps."

Sylvia Miles: "Coffee..."

Waiter: "How would you like your coffee?"

Sylvia Miles: "I like my coffee the way I like my men."

Waiter (without missing a beat): "I'm sorry Miss Miles, we don't serve gay coffee."

The other day, I watched the 1989 movie "She Devil", starring Roseanne Barr, Meryl Streep (who was at her funniest) and Sylvia Miles (playing Streep's mother). Hadn't seen this movie - which I found very funny - since it was released 30 years ago.

I googled Miles to see what she had appeared in recently, and couldn't believe she passed away this summer. Not sure how I missed that !  What an actress she was.
