And your verbiageisflippant and full of self hatred. Giving lip service to news items that shed a negative light on a certain community does more harm than good. It gives some people more of a reason to hate and stereotype. There are more important stories to give a platform to,such as the current administration’s11th hour attempt to take rights away from the gay community."
It has made it to CNN so it’s a thing. Call out these Instagram models and stop following them. They’re awful and they are spreading the wrong message.
While I completely disagree with your thoughts that the whole thread is homophobic, I’d like to pose a food for thought question for you.
First off, let me say right off the bat that, since I am not gay, I don’t feel comfortable and thing it’s wrong anyways for me to comment on things that are going on in the gay community.
That being said, let me pose you this thought. I am Jewish. And, there are many orthodox Jewish communities in Brooklyn that flat out refuse to wear masks, some in that community even went so far as to call it religious persecution. Now, as someone who is Jewish, if I were to call that population out, the same way that those in this thread are calling out the gay population for going to circuit parties and not caring about covid, would that then make me an anti Semitic person? Or even a self hating Jew?"
Of course not. My observation had to do with the way the poster expressed him or herself and not on their viewpoint. Dismissive, sarcastic, chilly and flippant. People who express themselves that way usually are not comfortable in their own skin and some like to put others down so they can feel superior. Just go back and read what the poster has written and then ask yourself if it is someone you would like to spend time with. Oh shut up and you are delusional....again verbiage from someone who is miserable. It is kind of sad.
If you were to write about Jewish Community folks not wearing masks I am sure you would do it from a place of respect and caring and deep concern. You would not stereotype or put them down.
This thread was not started with any kind of caring for a small group of gay men. It was to judge and ridicule them.
If individuals puts my community in immediate danger by their reckless, careless partying actions during a global pandemic, then you had better be sure they have lost all right NOT to be judged and ridiculed.
Was chatting with a friend the other day and brought this up in conversation. He lowered his voice and said "Ok, I am guilty. I went to a big party on New Years". I was floored but then not really surprised. He said he went to some resort where there were about 700 gay men. He defended it by saying they all had to have negative tests within 7 days of arriving and there was a checklist to get in. I have been at the point where I just don't shut my mouth about it and asked him why he went and reminded him about the possibility of becoming positive after testing negative if he isn't just staying at home. But his excuse was that he just wanted something to do for New Years. I don't know if this resort was here in the state but I am thinking it wasn't and he flew somewhere. All I could say after that was to be safe because we would like you to still be around when this is over. If it's over anytime soon.

You must have lived your life as a saint. Do you judge a man on his worst day or his best day? Find other way to change minds and provide clarity. Judgement and ridicule contribute nothing.
The villainizing in this thread reminds me of the vitriol that occurred during the AIDS epidemic.
What annoys me about this is like just unfollow these people? They only have power or popularity because we all follow them and talk a both them. Delete and move on.
Sanker should get fined or charged in some way for organizing this. The excuses given for going to this event sicken me. And the person who said they didn't go to any parties I find hard to believe.
Just unbelievable that a lot of the attendees were healthcare workers.
