I'm trying to win tickets to Les Mis and I need the answer to a question: Inspector Javert pursues Jean Valjean for breaking his parole. Originally Valjean was imprisioned for stealing a loaf of bread and another crime. Was the other crime breaking a window, writing a letter to the editor or failing to bow to an aristocrat?
None of the above. He violated his ASBO and wore Burberry in public.
Or if you're in a less silly mood, the lyrics of the Prologue clearly lay it out. If you have a cast recording, give it a listen. If you haven't, give it a Google. Put in a *little* work for this competition you are trying to win for yourself, y'know?
Oh, I've definitley worked. I found the answers to the other four questions. And believe it or not I've been looking for this one for over three hours. Google, ask.com... *Thanks for the help jasonf

He Stole a loaf of bread, that's the first thing. Then he tried to run away multiple times, so they made him do more time, and then after they let him out he broke his... oh, they already told you he broke his parole... I think he did break a window in the book, but there's definitely nothing about letters to the editior or bowing to an aristocrat. What are you doing to win tickets?
He does break a window to get the bread, and I don't know if they mentioni the window in the show.
2008 European Tour
London: Les Mis, Lion King, Sound of Music, Joseph, Hairspray, Billy Elliot
France: Le Roi Lion, Cabaret
Germany: Der Konig der Lowen
Holland: Tarzan & Les Mis
They definitely mention the window in the show. That is definitely the answer.
Javert: You robbed a house! Valjean: I broke a window pane.
What is this?

I only know a few songs-One Day More, Do You Hear The People Sing, and some others. There's a reason I'm trying to *win* tickets, I don't have much money because I'm trying to save for college. Sorry for not knowing the show as well as everyone...
No need to apologize for not having it memorized You'll get there. It's OK and doesn't make you any less of a fan or less deserving of winning those tickets!

Read carefully the question she asked. They just want the two reasons for the *initial* incarceration- stealing the bread and breaking the window
Footlooser- You're right IF they wanted why he remained in for so long... That would be IF the way they are looking at it as two different crimes.
