Miss Patti and Laura B. were in fine voice. Boyd Gaines... well....he tries. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Patti LuPone will win her second Tony for Best Actress in a Musical. "Can She Do It..... Yes she CAN!" from RC in Austin, Texas
"Noel [Coward] and I were in Paris once. Adjoining rooms, of course. One night, I felt mischievous, so I knocked on Noel's door, and he asked, 'Who is it?' I lowered my voice and said 'Hotel detective. Have you got a gentleman in your room?' He answered, 'Just a minute, I'll ask him.'" (Beatrice Lillie)
I don't care what anyone says - but THIS is the most playful Gypsy trio and playful performance of TOGETHER yet. They have so much fun with each other during the show and even on TV out of context.
I talked with my dad this afternoon ~ I'd told him to watch since I talked them into 3rd row mezz seats when my family comes up for my and my sister's birthday and he claimed to know nothing about the show ~ I figured this would be a good intro. I think he liked it...but it was hard to tell.
I really hope they like it when they're here. It'll be a long weekend otherwise.

"I mean, sitting side by side with another man watching Patti LuPone play Rose in GYPSY on Broadway is essentially the equivalent of having hardcore sex." -Wanna Be A Foster.
"Say 'Goody.' Say 'Bubbi.'" ... "That's it. Exactly as if it were 'Goody.' Now I know you're gonna sing 'Goody' this time, but nevertheless..."
It was a little awkward without the dance, but they have such amazing chemistry and they were clearly enjoying themselves. I love how LuPone sort of seems to be the captain, it was a cute performance.
"Some people can thrive and bloom living life in a living room, that's perfect for some people of one hundred and five. But I at least gotta try, when I think of all the sights that I gotta see, all the places I gotta play, all the things that I gotta be at"
