That's how I know that number is a bit high.

And who would have thought THAT was the second job requiring a squeegee?
No squeegee necessary, cheeze.
Yawper, my parents are both librarians and love their jobs (usually more than home life ) Screw the UK- if you don't like being around books all day, why become a librarian?
I agree, iHeartMyGeek. Exactly how successful are these authors? Maybe C_O/FW/ABSteel is satisfied, but not all of us have sugar daddies to make it possible to be a fulltime "author" for years on end. And considering writing and alcoholism go together better than peanut butter and jelly, I can't imagine even some of the most successful authors in history were entirely content with their lives.
As the daughter of a priest, I find it very surprising that clergy is on there. As I've witnessed with my father and a lot of his friends, it has to be one of the most frustrating, taxing jobs.
I guess the payoff is worth it, though, when the stakes are that high.
I mean, everone always asks me (I'm very forthright about how much I write and how much i love to write) if I'm going to be a writer when I grow up or major in writing in college and i always say "if I wanted to live under a bridge. I'm going to get another job and write on the side and if i hit it big I can always quit." Just "authors" that write all the time with no other job are probably happy becuase they're living in their parents' basements.
