In honor of the 10th Anniversary of "Love, Actually", HuffPost compiled a list of the 14 most romantic movie lines...
What are your favorites (from the list or any other film)?
'To me, you are perfect' and 13 other romantic movie lines
Just reading them out of context, most of them seem so awkward! And anything but romantic.
Still, romance is more about the feelings in the moment than the words.
I think they could have picked a better one from GWTW ...
"Here's a soldier of the South who loves you, Scarlett. Wants to feel your arms around him, wants to carry the memory of your kisses into battle with him. Never mind about loving me, you're a woman sending a soldier to his death with a beautiful memory. Scarlett! Kiss me! Kiss me... once..."
God, I had forgotten that Andrew Lincoln was that guy in Love Actually.
Time to re-watch the movie, Taz!
Besty, I agree- out of context the lines don't have the same impact. And I think this list is focused heavily on more 'recent' films. There is an entire library of classic films that have incredibly romantic scenes and quotes...

One of may favorite romantic lines--one that I think of frequently--is almost meaningless out of context, but still qualifies as top 10 for me.
Harold gives Maude the coin that says "Harold loves Maude". She tosses it into the water and says "Now I'll always know where it is".
You can transform any spot into the most romantic place in the world just by inhabiting it with your loved one.

"We'll always have Paris"
Addison - I love that movie!
And such a lovely thought...
Me too. It's one of my Litmus Tests--we can never **really** be friends if you don't love 'Harold & Maude'.
"Jerry, don't let's ask for the moon. We have the stars."

"Never at any crisis in your life have I known you to have a handkerchief."
"Of course this is your home. There are people here who love you."
"Here's looking at you, kid."
Alicia (Ingrid Bergman): Dev, is that you? I am glad you are late. This chicken took longer than I expected... what did they say? Hope it isn't done too - too much. Of course, i-it caught fire once... I think it's better if I cut it up out here, unless you want a half of one for yourself. We're going to have knives and forks, after all, I've decided we're going to eat in style. Marriage must be wonderful with this sort of thing going on everyday." NOTORIOUS
C.C. (Jack Lemmon): You hear what I said, Miss Kubelik? I absolutely adore you.
Fran (Shirley MacLaine): Shut up and deal... - THE APARTMENT
Frederick (Ciaran Hinds): I can listen no longer in silence. I must speak to you by such means as are within my reach. You pierce my soul. I am half agony, half hope. Tell me not that I am too late, that such precious feelings are gone for ever. I offer myself to you again with a heart even more your own than when you almost broke it, eight years and a half ago. Dare not say that man forgets sooner than woman, that his love has an earlier death. I have loved none but you. Unjust I may have been, weak and resentful I have been, but never inconstant. You alone have brought me to Bath. For you alone, I think and plan. Have you not seen this? Can you fail to have understood my wishes? I had not waited even these ten days, could I have read your feelings, as I think you must have penetrated mine. I can hardly write. I am every instant hearing something which overpowers me. You sink your voice, but I can distinguish the tones of that voice when they would be lost on others. Too good, too excellent creature! You do us justice, indeed. You do believe that there is true attachment and constancy among men. Believe it to be most fervent, most undeviating, in

"I must go, uncertain of my fate; but I shall return hither, or follow your party, as soon as possible. A word, a look, will be enough to decide whether I enter your father's house this evening or never." - PERSUASION
Fred (Cyril Raymond): You've been a long way away.
Laura (Celia Johnson): Yes.
Fred: Thank you for coming back to me. - BRIEF ENCOUNTER
Mickey (Woody Allen); You know, I was talking to your father before, and I was telling him that it's ironic I, I - used to always have Thanksgiving with Hannah, and I never thought that I could love anybody else. And here it is years later and I'm married to you and completely in love with you. The heart is a very, very resilient little muscle, it really is, I - make a great story, I think, guy marries one sister, doesn't work out, many years later he winds up married to the other sister, it's. You know, to - how you gonna top that? Hmm.
Holly (Dianne Wiest): Mickey.
Mickey: Mmm, what?
Holly: I'm pregnant. -HANNAH AND HER SISTERS
Mark (Albert Finney): Bitch
Joanna (Audrey Hepburn): Bastard - TWO FOR THE ROAD

"That'll do pig, that'll do."
I just melted re-reading the exchange from HANNAH AND HER SISTERS. So romantic. Same with the last exchange from THE APARTMENT.

"You must know, surely you must know, it was all for you. You are too generous to trifle with me. I believe you spoke with my aunt last night, and it has taught me to hope as I'd scarcely allowed myself before. If your feelings are still what they were last April, tell me so at once. My affections and wishes have not changed, but one word from you will silence me forever. If, however, your feelings have changed, I would have to tell you: you have bewitched me, body and soul, and I love... I love... I love you. And I never wish to be parted from you from this day on."
Delivered by the smoking hot Matthew MacFayden in Joe Wright's splendid film of PRIDE AND PREJUDICE. Hoo boy.
And, come ON, people... Love means having to say you're sorry. Often.
'I know.' - Han Solo, Empire Strikes Back
Stop judging, you bitches.
"But you are Blanche, you are in that chair!"
-- Bette Davis, What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?
"I think... no, I am positive that you are the most unattractive man I have ever met in my entire life. You know, in the short time we've been together, you have demonstrated every loathsome characteristic of the male personality and even discovered a few new ones. You are physically repulsive, intellectually retarded, you're morally reprehensible, vulgar, insensitive, selfish, stupid, you have no taste, a lousy sense of humor and you smell. You're not even interesting enough to make me sick." -The Witches of Eastwick
"Must be weird not having anybody cum on you." - SHOWGIRLS
