Reality show pitch:
"America's got (Cell Phone) Talent!"
AP: Thousands line up at Yankee Stadium to audition, talking VERY LOUDLY and for VERY long hours, to display a prowess heretofore untapped for Reality Show Ratings. Thousands of Ear PLugs distributed.....
I just posted this on the Main board in the thread about self entitled people.
I can’t believe this woman went on for 16 hours before they got her off. I wouldn’t have lasted an hour in the car with her. There would have been blood.
Did she use the john during this time?
I'll reiterate what Anderson Cooper said: Who the hell can talk non stop for 16 hours?
^It's a special skill that only the loudest, most obnoxious people tend to have. Just like no one has cell service in the subway tunnels EXCEPT that one loud person. One of these days, I'm going to ask who their service provider is.
Leave my mom alone! We had a lot to talk about!
Having seen her, she apparently has an insatiable appetite for many, many, many things.
I would kill to have a cell phone that has a 16 hour battery.
"Leave my mom alone!"
OMG Jordan, I think we might be long lost sisters!

I was thinking the same thing but don't some trains have sockets for laptops, phones, etc?
I take Amtrak a lot, and on every train that I have been on there are sockets against the wall of each seat for laptops, phones etc.

Was there no train crew?

Nope. It was a ghost train!
I love the quiet car! But it isnt always quiet.
WOSQ, it's my experience that conductor's rarely want to bother (I actually think some are afraid to confront riders) and some even talk as loudly as they want on the quiet car. I take NJ Transit almost every day and it can be trying. Luckily there's usually someone more annoyed than me that confronts the talker...but I have on occasion.
I've seen someone yell at another for talking and then proceed to take a phone call. People are aholes. And dont get me started on the paper flippers or the ones that cant bother to mute their laptops.
Amtrak is usually better, but took it to Philly last week and it was very crowded so some people didnt realize they were on the quiet car...which I can sort of understand. When the people behind me continued to chat, I politely told them it was the quiet car and they apologized and shut up. The conductor, on the other hand, chatted with every person as he took their ticket, particularly the navy guy who sat next to me. I was flabbergasted and complained to Amtrak.
But 16 hours?! That's amazing! I'm sure I'd have been arrested. If someone doesnt shut up I just pretend like I'm in the conversation and ask questions about what the other person said!

OMG, doodlenyc! I hate the paper flippers! I thought it was just me. I thought I was being overly particular.
I wish there were designated quiet cars on subway trains during the morning commuting hours. This morning on my way to work on the subway I had a paper flipper sitting across from me and next to him some woman was reading a book out loud to her 2 kids who could have given 2 sh!+s what it was about. They weren't even paying attention.
It's going to be a disaster when people will eventually be able to get cellphone reception underground in the tunnels. It bad enought now on the elevated train lines. There is always some a$$h0le talking loudly on a cellphone.
I just thank God that those push-to-talk cellphones seem to be a thing of the past. I remember a few years ago when it seemed that every ghetto loud mouth had one of those and you could hear both sides of their conversation.

The acoustics in a plane and train making people talking audibly/loudly seem sharper, or something. It's very distinct. And very arrrrgh.
I can't believe people let her do it for 16hrs.
Once on a train from Paris to Brussels in the "no-cellphone" car, a guy got on his cellphone, and I walked up pointing to the no cell-phone sign and when he didn't get off the phone I started singing loudly....he was off in seconds
I love you Elphaba! That was a stroke of genius!
Mom, I just hate cellphones on trains.....and wait til they allow them on planes...I'll go crazy!
My friend, who rides the Bronx express bus into Manhattan every day, has a cell-phone jammer. They're apparently illegal in the US; I think he orders his from England.

of course they are illegal here "civil rights" you know. I would love to get my hands on one of those jammers. Oh the fun I would have screwing with their calls! on the Long Island Railroad one time, a guy speaking very loud on his phone in an already crowded car. I asked him politely to please lower his voice. He shot me a dirty look, and told the person on the other end "I gotta go some a**h*** asked me to keep it down. That is why I just want to slam their heads!
