re: 18 and younger??

G- I'm sorry, didn't want to make you feel old.

Matt_G- lol thats what most of the kids say in my school. for the few years that I have been a teenager I never said I hated my life or school. I like school cause I meet someone new everyday and I have a lot of friend there also most of my classes this year have something to do with everything I like. Acting, dance, and music (band) My life is pretty darn good. re: 18 and younger??

re: 18 and younger??

The questions I would be asking are...

How many board members 18 and younger enjoy musicals wrtten before 1990?

How many have seen a musical written before 1990?

How many have even the slightest interest in seeing or learning more about a musical written before 1990?

(Sorry I am feeling very jaded today for some reason.)

So, would those of among us who are older say things get better or worse after highschool?

re: 18 and younger??

Well, I can't honestly say I know when musicals were written BUT I love Cabaret's music. I love Chicago. A Chorus Line is...interesting, but I like it. Follies, another good one. Oh my gosh and Funny Girl... I adore the music and the movie. I like the songs I have heard from Sweet Charity... Soo do those count? I haven't seen one though, because the only show I have seen is Wicked(please, no remarks. If it were my choice I would see every show on Broadway.) And I have an interest in learning about any Broadway show, no matter when it was written.
What is Broadway? A street? Some say it's a street. Some say it is the best street in the world. Others think its terrible. That's the beauty of it, it's terribly beautiful. Some hate it and don't know why. Others love it and don't know why. That's what makes it so wonderful, it's a mystery.

re: 18 and younger??

I do know about a lot of old musicals plus music. I love frank sinatra and tony orlando. I mean not many kids my age ever heard of them.

re: 18 and younger??

I understand some of you do, but there are also the ones who don't give a crap. I find the latter depressing even though they do get points for being interested in musicals at all.

You think high school is rough?

The first year of college will be HELL. Around January, you will get terribly depressed and think about quitting. Trust me, it WILL get better!

wait until you are OUT of college -- I promise (and you don't believe me now) you will look back on it in five or ten years like it was a vacation!

I love a lot of musicals written before 1990. My Fair Lady and A Chorus Line are two of my favorites.

I'm getting way too many PM's from people asking me about school. Let's set the record straight by saying that I have been able to legally drink for many years now.

I'm 24. I'm on the verge of a quarter-life crisis. I think I will need counseling. The big 2-5 soon. I've been wearing white tube tops, drinking too much and getting sick. I guess it's to be expected.

re: 18 and younger??

I'm 17 (or as some said- 17 going on 23...in some ways. I still have some stupid teenager tendencies.), and I am interested in many musicals, not all of them popular.

To Son of's questions - My first favorite musicals were Pippin, Dames at Dea, Godspell, and A Chorus Line. I agree it's kind of sad to see teens that call themselves "the biggest musical fans" when Rent is the extent of their knowledge.

Anyway, whoo! One more year of high school. I've been waiting for senior year for about 7 years- never really felt like a regular teenager- or their definition of it anyway.
