It certainly explains why a supposed conservative can't cogently argue his own points.
Well, to be fair, most of them can't. At least, not any of the ones who get air time. And they have a tendency to cannibalize any Conservatives who do apply any sense of logic or reason based on facts. They remind me of the subjects who choose to appear on My Strange Addiction.

Well there might be more than one incident about troll teachers. I distinctly remember Childrenandart, which Dollypop named Childrenandfarts, posting all over the place and someone actually found photos of him, which were posted. Right now I can't remember the details, but there was a thing going on about him. Maybe Childrenandart was also the guy from Xenia.

ChildrenAndArt, HDThoreau, Mikey, AbbyNormal, SueStorm, Chanticleer, CountA and how many more have been jerking off at their computers for YEARS now, and every one of you (myself included) have been providing him what he needs. You give him just what he wants.
It's really simple. Start ignoring him and he will find someplace else to jerk off. Or maybe, just maybe, get help.
The SAME DAMN TROLL every time

And the link to the other thread reminded us of Annas Priest... Another troll.
I'm throwing The Gingerbread Man on the troll pile as well.
There's just so many!

yes, and I wonder how you determine which ones are the same troll as another, other than just guessing from speech patterns or topics.

Speech patterns and topic choices are critical and very telling - plus (and I don't have the time for this), this troll has repeatedly tripped up and gotten his personas confused, responding as one when he should have been the other.
As to not minding "giving them a little happiness if this is where they get it.", I don't like feeding into a mental illness.

I'm coming from a different place than you are, Ghostlight.. My sister was mentally ill. I say "was" because she died a few months ago. All she wanted was cigarettes and soda. That's what she spent her money (that we gave her) on. And cheap little trinkets that she bought at Walgreens and other such stores.
The trinkets were pure junk. She gave them as gifts very often. The cigarettes were toxic (I'm sure she smoked more than 2 packs a day), and the soda - well I don't have to comment on that. She drank it all day long.
She had a very sad life alone in her wheelchair with little to no happiness. Even though she spent her money on junk, if we could give her a little happiness, we were delighted to.

LOL! You can tell when the folks on the left realize they have completely lost the debate by the direction this thread has gone. I schooled the folks on this thread using the Constitution, then using the SCOTUS, both of which backed my argument 100%. And it is at that point when the lefties resort to their usual tactics of smears, name-calling and personal attacks. But it honestly does not bother me at all; it proves beyond any doubt that they have given up on the debate. When the Constitution and the SCOTUS say, "Hey lefty moron, you're WRONG!" there is really nothing else for the left to do but slide into the mud pit. But again, I have no problem with it because it proves that I have made my point beyond any logical argument they can make.

I don't think we're coming from that different of a place, Jane. I totally get that, and I'd do the same in your shoes.
Your sister harmed no one but herself. This troll is different. There's a nasty malice to his dealings. He works deliberately to upset others, and disrupts the board. That's not harmless.
I am sorry for your loss and rejoice that you were able to give your sister some comfort.

Thank you, Ghostlight.
I think the difference in our thinking is that I don't see a message board as a place where you can do someone real harm by posting obnoxious messages. That is, unless they post personal info about you which is against the board rules. It happened to me once, actually, by someone we all love to hate, who posted some personal info about me.
Anyway, I don't take the trolls seriously. I guess you're right that if we ignore them, they might go away. But just maybe.

Wrong!! I work deliberately to CHALLENGE THE THINKING of others. Anyone who believes that what I post is wrong has every opportunity to challenge the content of my post. But, as you can clearly see, many people on this board find that very hard to do.
You can't win a debate just by disagreeing with me, you have to break my argument. I have no problem with anyone at all responding to my posts in an effort to PROVE ME WRONG. There are not a lot of people on this board who have the intellectual capacity to debate a 4th grader. However, occasionally I get a SUBSTANTIVE challenge to something I have posted, which I really appreciate. Unfortunately, those responses are rare. However, the lame responses to my post do nothing but back up the substance of what I am saying, and they will not stop my efforts to challenge people's thinking.

Jane, you're right, of course: they can't do any real harm.
But I agree with ghostlight insofar as the attempt to disrupt the boards isn't neutral behavior. It's much like having someone screaming in your ear when you're trying to have a conversation with someone else.

I think the troll was proven wrong when he couldn't even properly quote the constitution.
Jane, I'm sorry to hear about your sister. It sounded as if it were a very sad situation.

"I think the troll was proven wrong when he couldn't even properly quote the constitution. "
Ok,I will challenge this assertion of yours. Here is the actual text of the 2nd Amendment, which I am not typing, I have copied and pasted it:
"A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."
Now, here is what I wrote when I quoted the 2nd Amendment in this thread:
"The 2nd Amendment does not say the "rights of the MILITIA to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed". It says the "right of the PEOPLE to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed". "
So, HOW did I not "properly quote" the Constitution? My quote is literally word for word, aside from my emphasis on the word "PEOPLE".
Please explain.

Thanks for the condolences, friends. It was a sudden and tragic death that I still can't get used to.
anyway, about the trolls disrupting the boards, and Reggie, about your analogy, why not just scroll past their posts to the next person's post? I do that with Mikey now. I don't want to spend time reading it, so I go to the next person whom I' m interested in.
I bet a lot of us scroll past some regular "normal, lol" posters that they don't particularly care for. I admit I do.
