I watched the replays - A-Rod's home run was a home run either way.
But I think what we can all agree upon is that FOX was incredibly freaking stupid to stick a camera where it could interfere with a ball in play. WTF? And WTF to Joe Buck refusing to shut the hell up about football during a baseball game, too. The FOX broadcasting team is just dreamy compared to the one that did the Yankees/Twins ALDS, but that doesn't mean they're actually good.
Finally, HEE to Andy Pettitte getting a hit, and to Swisher rolling around on the ground with the Phillies' catcher as he ran home on it.

Sorry I have been MIA the past couple days (Halloween parties, marching band practices, and I was at the game last night) I am still drying out from last night. I sat in the upper deck and there is no protection so I was soaked the whole game. The wind was brutal last night. There is something wrong with Cole and to tell you the truth I never thought that either team would sweep (I still think we are going 7 games) I thought game 3 would be a Phillies loss because Cole is just not right and hasn't been right all season long. Chan Ho Park is sick with the flu and not having him hurt...plus half the clubhouse has the flu(thanks Gregg Dobbs)
On a personal note I was peeved to see about 50 Yankee fans sitting in my regular season seats in left field, so the Phillies organization is getting a letter. There is no way 25 season ticket holder sitting in the same section put those seats up on stubhub together.
I have to say that the Glee cast singing the national anthem was awesome. TV did not do it justice. I got chills last night from it (and it wasn't the wind and rain). With the powerdul singing the big flag and the fireworks, there was nothing like it. The Yankee fans near me agreed.
This is a weird situation for the Phillies because we haven't been behind in a series yet...so tonight is huge. Go Phils!

Posted: 11/1/09 at 6:31pmI really felt that Cole fell apart after the A-Rod homer call. He was dealing pretty well up to that point. I'm not sure if it was because he was shaken by the actual call or the fact that the game had to stop. Often when a pitcher is in their "groove" and get interrupted they cannot get it back.

Posted: 11/1/09 at 8:32pmPhillies really need a formal warning. You can't just keep hitting A-Rod every time he steps to the plate.

Posted: 11/1/09 at 8:39pmJoe's plunking of ARod was not intentional at all. And warnings have been issued to both sides. The next pitcher who hits a batter is automatically ejected as is his manager.

Storm, I'm with ya on this one but I just can't see it happening...
But...we can always hope for the best, I suppose.
Hug tight!

Wow, the team with the highest salary is winning.
B.F.D.
Until there are salary caps like in football then baseball is stupid and the Yankees winning is boring. No great accomplishment.

Oh give me a break. It was as completely intentional a plunking as was Madonna's plunking of ARod last year.

No one said they did.

Posted: 11/2/09 at 12:10amThey were just given ball after ball to hit. Phillies are awful! That's why they're the damned Yankees!

"Phillies are awful!"
Which, of course, explains why they're playing as current champions in a consecutive series . . .

Posted: 11/2/09 at 12:29amI meant in tonight's game! Read my post, earlier in this thread. I said I didn't care if they con or not. They are my favorite team in my lifetime!

Posted: 11/2/09 at 4:36amWhy didn't Lidge cover third base? What kind of bullsh!it was that? Such a Little League play. With two outs in the ninth and two strikes against Damon, and they blew it! At this rate the Phillies didn't deserve to win that game.

It was fun to see the camera pan the audience right before Damon hit and see all happy, cocky faces. then fast forward 5 minutes and it looked like tears.
Don't get me wrong, my face does that weekly with the Giants, but still as a Yankee fan that gave me much needed satisfaction last night!
