Even with Coco Gauff losing in QF, American women will still have somebody make the SF. Later tonight, Jesicca Pegula will play fellow American Amanda Anisimova for a berth in the SF. The winner will play the winner of the Rybakina-Swiatek match.
On the men's side, Americans have only Ben Shelton left, and he has the huge task of beating Jannick Sinner.
Should be some good tennis. Best way to catch the night AO matches is to record them since they start at 3:30 am our time on the east coast.

That was fantastic, do feel bad for Zverev. Will be interesting to see how that long match affects Alcarez in the final. Djokovic-Sinner match was great also; surprised Djokovic came back after being down 2-1 in sets. Key to the match was Djokovic saved 16 break points.

I imagine the walkovers helped Djokovich today from an energy conservation standpoint. It will be interesting to see how both guys show up after such long matches.
I am not the biggest Djoko fan, but what a capstone it would be to win his 25th major by defeating Sinner and Alcaraz.
If Alcaraz is injury-free, I think he will take it as his play creates problems for Djokovich that Skinner doe not. But who knows lol?

Good women's final, glad to see Rybakina win her 2nd GS title. Tough loss for Sabalenka, she has now lost 2 straight Australian Open finals.

I am still recovering from the Alcaraz/Zverev match.
I will check in on the final if I am still up or see the final score in the morning. but won't watch it through. I just don't care to watch Djokovic play. Rooting for Alcaraz.
Just checked. Will watch replay.
Congrats Carlos!

Pretty boring tournament overall, but the final few days of tennis made it more than worth it.
Congrats to Alcaraz and Rybakina on their well-earned Slams.

Exactly. The men's SF matches and women's final saved the tournament from total boredom. As great as Alcaraz and Sinner are, I am starting to get tired of them winning all the time. I felt the same way with the "Big Three" years ago. Would be nice if once in a while player like Zverev, Fritz or Shelton would break through and win a "Slam". Women's game has players like Sabalenka and Switek who have won a bunch but other players like Gauff and Rybakina have won a couple.
