Jack Bauer is the man.

Posted: 1/11/06 at 5:20pmI hear that the last season was the best yet. I only saw the first few episodes, alas.

Posted: 1/11/06 at 5:23pmThe last season was really good. I'm pumped for the fifth. I'm a huge Tony and Michelle fan. I dont know if they're coming back this season, they always mix up the cast.

but last season a friend made me watch and in the first 5 minutes i was HOOKED
you will not regret watching it, beware though, it's addicting

Posted: 1/12/06 at 2:38amTechnically there's no reason why Mandy can't pop up again considering the agreement she was given by the President when she gave up the location at the end of season 5.

Posted: 1/12/06 at 2:55amIts possible. They had an analyst in one season who came across as if he could be gay but they never brought it up either way, and in season four the Secretary of Defense's son did end up talking about his sexuality at one point.

Posted: 1/12/06 at 3:00amCould someone please give me a quick recap of the last 4 seasons? (Yes, I'm serious.) I haven't watched since the first few episodes of the first few seasons, but I'd like to pick it up again on Sunday. I just want know the absolute major things and people that are relevant going into this season.

Posted: 1/12/06 at 3:03amReally you only need to catch up on the 4th season. Although obviously things to continue slightly generally each season is independent from the others. However, supposedly this next season will be the one which most closely relies on the preceding season, being season 4.

My main questions:
1) Has Jack's little hoochie daughter not been killed off or knocked up yet?
2) Why is Jack presumed dead this season?
3) Who's Michelle?
4) What happened to the president?

1) Has Jack's little hoochie daughter not been killed off or knocked up yet?
No, she was written out of the show and didn't appear in season 4 at all. They said that she and her boyfriend were living together happily but she never actually appeared. However, she is slated to appear in the show again this season (ugh, I can't stand her)
2) Why is Jack presumed dead this season?
He was forced to fake his own death at the end of the season in order to avoid being killed by a SS agent. The government was trying to kill him to avoid him being arrested by the Chinese government for an assault he lead on their consulate. The gov't feared that if taken he would talk and they would get blamed for what was a covert operation gone awry. However he was warned by former president Palmer and was helped by Michelle, Tony, and Chloe to fake his death, secure a new identity and thus the end of the season was him going off in this sense and everyone else thinking he had been killed.
3) Who's Michelle?
Michelle Dessler is a CTU worker who has moved up through the chain of command and was heading CTU by the end of last season. In season 2 she started dating Tony Almeida, in season 3 they were married, in season 4 they had become divorced but at the end of the season they said they were getting back together again.
4) What happened to the president?
President Palmer's term of office is over. He was followed by President Keeler. Last season Air Force One was shot down and the VP Logan stepped up in his spot. They never said officially that Keeler was dead, he was last mentioned as being in "critical condition" although anything I've read about the upcoming season mentions 'President Logan' so I assume they're saying that the VP has remained as president.

Stop. Bauer time.
Love this show. I'm an addict. I'm hopeful that season five will live up to the precedent set by season 3 and 4.
What do you think the big "shocking" thing is that's going to happen within the first ten minutes?
I'm already biting my nails.

Season 1 and Season 4 were by far the best...I am so looking forward to the new season. Although, I admit, I need a good 10 minute recap of last season, so much went on!
Kim is the most annoying character ever. But I often look forward to seeing her in the show to see what she will screw up this time...
Is Chloe still around?

so can't wait for this new season! It's going to be interesting, trying to stay spoiler free though my friend did give me a HUGE spoiler that I'm not happy with...I'm hoping that it's not in the first 10 minutes though.
Chloe is back and so is Kim...this is gonna be an amazing amazing season and it's only a few more days away! I've loved this series since season 1 when my friend forced me to watch it and now I'm hooked and come back every season they manage to keep me on the edge of my seat.

Chloe definitely grew on me...and she looks pretty damn good in the previews for this season!
How much you wanna bet Kim's gonna do something stupid this season that forces Jack and everyone else to clean up her mess?

From the previews, it looks like President Keeler is back.
Personally, I wouldn't mind being the cream in a Jack/Tony Oreo.
