~ there's a film that mirren did when she was very young opposite james mason. it's called age of consent.
~ it was her first major film role. she was 22 when filming began.
~ she is beautiful throughout and had quite a bit of nude scenes in the uncensored version.
~ columbia pictures distributed the film in the u.s. in a heaviy edited version. most of mirren's nude scenes hit the cutting room floor.
~ the film was restored in 2005 and was released on dvd in 2009.
~ i've always considered mirren such a fearless and uninhibited actress...and in that early stage in her career she exhibited those qualities.

I fell in love with Mirren when I first saw her in "The Cook, the Thief, his Wife and her Lover". One of my all time favorite actors. Fearless and so versatile. She's her country's Meryl Streep with more fearlessness.
Art has a double face, of expression and illusion.
