30 Rock and The Wiz
30 Rock and The Wiz#1

Posted: 11/7/08 at 12:21amThat whole episode was one of the best yet. Seeing Oprah play that skewed version of herself was great. Much better than last week's episode; I was a little worried that they were changing styles for ratings.

My favorite was the princess Leia bit.
"I don't really think it's fair for me to be on a jury, because I can read thoughts."
Her uber-nerd voice killed me.

I agree, it might be one of the best 30 ROCK episodes to date. It's nice to see the sharp humor still on track as the show enters its 3rd season. A HUGE improvement on last week's episodes which I like less and less the more I think about it.
Everyone was wonderful and Oprah's scene was brilliant, the twist at the end was hilarious too although I'd have loved to see Oprah interact with Tracy and Jenna.

The episode last night was VASTLY better than the good but not great season premiere in which only Megan Mullally made me laugh.
Oprah was hysterical...her comic timing is really sharp.
Last night's episode's was one of the best episodes of the entire series. I love, love, love, love, love this show.

Posted: 11/7/08 at 9:28amOMIGOD, I havent seen it yet, but if people are saying its the best thats means a lot coming from a series that is brilliant %110 of the time.

I watched it with my grandfather and he died laughing when he saw Tracy as a white woman and Jenna dancing down the hall way singing "Ease on down the road."
"Salt water taffy...sweater capes and high heeled flip flops..."
I've never been so excited about a new season for a show as I am about 30 Rock...it is a freakin' RIOT!!!!!!!!!!!

I have to agree, Dottie, and I don't know why. I adore Tina Fey and I think Alec Baldwin is perfection in his role, but it just doesn't appeal to me. I've seen about 10 episodes and I just can't get into it.
re: 30 Rock and The Wiz#11
Posted: 11/7/08 at 4:30pmI found it quite funny as well.
re: 30 Rock and The Wiz#12
Posted: 11/9/08 at 1:08amI've watched the Pam scene about ten times now. I think this is the funniest episode ever.

The Pam twist was amazing! It's fun to watch it again, knowing it's Pam.
Sweater capes, calypso music, paisley tops, chinese checkers, and high heeled flip flops are definitely my new favorite things.

I just saw it again. Jane Krakowski is a comic genius.
Oprah was brilliant, Tina Fey should win another Emmy for this episode (I know it's a year before the awards but still, I think this might be her funniest episode to date--Princess Leiah...HILARIOUS!), and well the whole cast was just perfect. The writing is so sharp and witty, I can't get over the episode. It was just out of the world.
What's great about it is that the show is in its third season and still surprising us in its great humor. I really hope they stick around for a couple more years at least.
I'm really looking forward to next week's episode with Jennifer Aniston.

Definitely the best 30 Rock episode since Succession.
On a side note, can anyone find a good quality photo of Jenna in blackface? I would kill to have it as my profile picture.

For those who said they tried it and didn't like it, I was that way, too. I watched an episode or two when it started I thought "feh." Then during the strike last year I was starving for new shows, so I watched the first and what had been completed of the second season and I was hooked!
The scene leading up to Pam's entrance was brilliant, from the sweater cape and the saltwater taffy, to the calypso music that built to a climax and Tina Fey's "Oprah!"

re: 30 Rock and The Wiz#18
Posted: 11/9/08 at 10:53pmI still think the whole Jack in the mail room thing last week was funny, whether Tina Fey realized it was kind of an allusion to H2$ or not.
re: 30 Rock and The Wiz#19
Posted: 11/10/08 at 2:22pmI thought the same thing about the connection with H2$. All they needed was to have Cooter show up from last season and it would have been a total H2$ reunion!!
