These are supposedly the 50 Worst Songs Ever...I'm guilty of liking some of them.
I mean, really! What's wrong with "Sunglasses at Night?"
Please, someone say they actually listen to some of this...besides me, I mean.

some of those songs I so agree with. I dunno how 'macarena' didn't make the list.
but 'sounds of silence' and 'what's up' are two of a few that don't deserve to be there.
and going after madonna for rapping in 'american life' proves how silly the writer is--there is no way Madonna was putting that out as her serious attempt at rapping. she's clearing being satirical as she constantly has a tongue in cheek approach that people often miss. if having a madonna song on the list was a necessity, I would think they could find more appropriate choices.

Posted: 10/12/07 at 7:59pm"My Heart Will Go On" made the list and not that shake your ass, watch yourself song... or did it? Most of those songs I've never heard of.

I love You're the Inspiration! I grew up with it! (my mom played Chicago, The Beatles, and other rock bands all ofthe time when I was little)
There are other good songs here too. But I guess it's all matter of opinion.

Follow Me(Uncle Cracker) and Rollin(Limp Bizkit) were my most favorite songs ever in 6th grade.
I Wanna Sex You Up is my top work-out song. . .(Don't tell anyone that.)
Your Body Is A Wonderland made the list! Looking at that should've made the list lose all credibility to anyone with ears.
#1 Makes Me Cry, I heart that song.

Your Body is a wonderland?
The sounds of silence???
Two AMAZING songs!

Soapguy, it's funny that you say that because when I read "Your Body Is A Wonderland" on that list I literally said, out loud, "Yeah, this list has lost all credibility with me."
And "We Didn't Start The Fire"?! Come ON, that is half a centry of history in five minutes! Billy Joel deserves a Get Out Of 50-Worst-Songs-Ever Lists just because he is awesome.

Well, I embrace the trashy, so I love:
I Would Do Anything For Love (Rock Opera cheesefest!)
The Sounds Of Silence (Great for the moodiness)
We Didn't Start The Fire (I made it my mission to learn all the words!)
Shiny Happy People (Who doesn't like shiny happy people holding hands?)
Greatest Love of All (How many of you danced to this at a middle school dance at some point???)
Breakfast at Tiffanys (It's damn catchy)
Your Body Is A Wonderland (Some of us are more like theme parks, but it's a sweet thought)
Two Princes (Soundtrack of my sophmore year of highschool)
What's Up (Who doesn't like to yell, "HEYYYYYYAAYYYYYAYYYYAYYYYYYAYYYY?")
From A Distance (It's Bette, dammit)
Party All The Time (He says Potty, for pete's sake. It's fun to sing)

We Built This City is nothing new. VH1 named it their #1 YEARS ago.

I still really don't get what's so wrong with "The Sounds of Silence".
I have absolutely no issue whatsoever with "We Built This City" being #1. Add to that the fact--and anyone who was alive at the time knows this--MTV and radio would not. Stop. Playing. That. F**king. Song.
re: 50 Worst Songs...I feel Guilty#15
Posted: 10/13/07 at 12:25pmJG2, I believe this is actually exactly the same list that VH1 has televised for years now. Becuase I remember being astonished that "The Heart Of Rock 'n' Roll" but Huey Lewis and the News was so far up (I love Huey Lewis and the News and I'm not ashamed to admit it). From there everything else was the same. This is definitely the same list, in fact, I think they used to say that it was "VH1 and Blender Magazine's 50 most Awesomely Bad Songs of All time". A couple of these may be different but I'm pretty sure it's almost exactly the same.

Posted: 10/15/07 at 9:53amMeh. The source of the list tells me all I need to know. Self-important magazine trying to be trendy and smug than say anything of actual value. Click on "Our Awesome List of Lists" and review their self-proclaimed "awesome" list titles. Most of them are just mean-spirited snark attacks like a bunch of junior high girls competing for popularity. I bet they keep a slam book in their conference room.

I'm proud to say that only four of those are on my iPod. I won't say which ones. (OK, it's Madonna, the Beatles, Whitney and one too embarrassing to mention)
Actually, it's almost five, because I have a dance mix of "Sunglasses" on there...but I'm not counting it, because very little of the actual song is in it.

I'm shocked that Len's "Steal My Sunshine" didn't make the list.
'Cause then it would have been five.

C'mon----BEATLES? Insane.
But I absolutely agree that "Built this city" is the worst song ever.
No Andrew LLoyd Weber though?
